I arrived a little ahead of time for a table for 6 booked for lunch at 13:00. I was greeted as I entered, to be honest the place was basically empty, but I was still treated with engagement & enthusiasm, the staff made me feel like they were serving a regular, rather than a newcomer, they made me feel right-at-home in an instance. I didn't catch the name of either, but the staff behind the bar were a lady & gentleman of 20ish years & both were lovely. I was shown my table & when the rest of my group arrived & we'd ordered our lunch, which was very specific as 2 of them have food-specific preferences, the kitchen staff even came out to the table just to confirm that the specific instructions had been sent through correctly. The food was, of course to the very high standard I've come to expect of Green King eateries & the whole experience was very pleasent indeed. The bar staff came to check all was ok, but as the specifically requested dishes came out the kitchen staff then came out to confirm they'd provided the dish as specified, which I thought was nice. I opted for the Hunters Chicken Jacket Potato & was soo impressed I suggested to my party all Gastro-eateries ought to have it on their menus too. The rest of my party were pleased with their food, no complaints at all, & from this lot that's quite an...

So first all your online website states on the child’s menu is until 9pm also. Decided to treat my 15 year old son for a burger after I finished work. So we arrive. I order drinks. I ask are you still serving food, I got a response yes until 9pm. So we go sit down look at the menus and get up to order. To be told sorry can’t serve you. First of all why tell us we can eat, seat us, then refuse to serve us? Stating kids aren’t allowed In? There was kids menus on the tables??? Even tho he was eating off an adult one. THEN get told that we are welcome to sit and and drink our drinks!! Right okay. So why can’t I order him a burger while we have our drinks?! We was probs in their the length of time a burger could of been cooked and eaten. The pub was practically empty, dead! He told me that everyone there was new and must of lost track of things. So all the staff at the bar who I asked are new yes? He said yes. Why lie. Why turn 3 people away after a long day to be told- we’ll go somewhere else. I don’t drive. I walked. To walk back and try and go somewhere else I would t of had time. The manager needs replacing asap before he runs you out...

1st time here. This establishment is trying to be all things to all people - family friendly & students & sports. In my experience students and sports fans dont want children around. Personally, I liked it. Sound system was at a comfortable level, friendly welcoming staff, fairly clean. My husband wasn't as keen, felt the atmosphere was flat. The seating is laid out for serving food, hence non of the tables and chairs were in a good position to see the screens. The screens were high, so meant looking up, yet people queueing at the bar still managed to obstruct them. There was only 3 staff on, so long waits at the bar. The food was hit and miss. We ordered the sharing platter and loaded chips so we could compare directly with the adelphi. The chips were delicious- hot, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and more importantly did not go floppy. Better than adelphi. The sharing platter was poor. Alot of frozen, beige, deep fried, breadcrumbed stuff dumped on a plate. Much worse...

Me and my partner came here last night and walked out at roughly about 7.30pm what a shambles this place has become. I ordered drinks and food and none of it was great. They had limited stock for the pitcher drinks and staff was rude especially putting a main meal in front of me and my partner as we had only just finished our starter. We did ask for a refund but no one came back to us about it. The lady asked us if we wanted to take the meat home so I said yes and it went straight into the bin when I got home.I asked for a pitcher not a gigantic plastic cup with my beverage in it and also the coke was watery and horrible. We will not be back. Service is appalling. I would just like to add that we booked a table online and when we arrived here they hadn’t received our booking so we was just shoved on a table.

Very nice place to stay for having a nice moment to relax in nice ambience. The building is surrounded by a garden with quite a lot tables a seats, and also has a parking for several cars. The people inside was too kind, specially the staff and the meal was quite nice with a good price, also the drinks with a big variety of beers. The house inside it's very confortable, and has many ambiences to be in calm within being mixed the conversations between tables. Also you can play darts, billard and watch some sport in the TVs they have.

I had an amazing brunch experience at The Guild Pub on our first day of class. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was welcoming. The pub's location was convenient, and the staff were friendly and attentive. It was the perfect way to start our class journey, and I would highly recommend The Guild Pub for a great brunch!
