Monsoon Indian — Restaurant in Reigate and Banstead

Excellent restaurant - highly recommended

This was our first visit to the Monsoon Indian Restaurant in Woodhatch, Reigate, and we were not disappointed. From the minute we walked in we were served by friendly waiters who showed us to a pristine table covered in white linen tablecloths and serviettes. Our group of six chose a variety of meals which were all served in good time and were delicious. They cooked a special meal for one of our party who had food allergies and who usually has little choice in most restaurants. Throughout the evening the staff were attentive but not intrusive, and we had a wonderful evening.

Whilst we were there some regular customers arrived and were treated like friends by the staff. Throughout the evening they also supplied a never-ending stream of takeaway meals so they're obviously well-regarded by many people in the area.

This will be our new favourite restaurant from now on and we would highly recommend it.

Warning - menu hikes. I had a leaflet delivered last week. When I went to order this week, the prices have risen significantly. I wonder why deliver out of date leaflets. Never mind. Set meal no longer £13.95. Now £15.95. A "simple" prawn cocktail up from £3.60 to £4.95. Was told all this just now. I think they are in London or something. But I don't get the model of leaflet drop at price A, but charge at price B - I spotted it - others will.. Going for...

Food was perfect.

The atmosphere was a bit stale, like the staff were all fed up. And this buffet thing is a bit half baked. Didn't really understand it and the staff honestly looked like they were sick of explaining it, but have made no effort to give it its own menu. I wished I'd just ordered as usual.

Not my favorite restaurant for having a nice time, but the food was definitely top notch. But I like a restaurant with nice atmosphere so won't be back to...
