Solely directed towards the chef whose service is appalling. Me and my friend got some drinks then spent over 45 minutes waiting for some chips while he was inside playing games and doing anything but his job basically. For context, it was pretty empty, we were the only people who had even ordered food. We didn’t fancy a massive meal, just wanted a bit of food to go with our drinks and the few scoops of ice cream included on the menu for the kids meal. After 45+ minutes we get the food without the ice cream, not a massive deal but when we ask for it the chef sends the server (who was an absolute sweetheart) out to communicate his blatant refusal to give us part of the meal we paid for. Apparently we couldn’t have the scoops of ice cream because we were not children lol and they needed to save the ice cream for children, even though the other part of the meal was acceptable and there were no children in the pub so clearly the ice cream wasn’t in high demand (I’ve never even seen children in that pub?) And baring in mind we’ve already paid and they neglected to say we “couldn’t” have a kids portion while they were taking our money. Funny how that works. Maybe say that before you’ve taken the money or put it on ur menu? Servers were lovely but chef (m) clearly doesn’t give a toss and doesn’t do his job. It wasn’t busy, play games or whatever in ur own time not when u have one food order in a near empty pub. A few chips shouldn’t take near to an hour. Then the audacity to not give us the ice cream part of the meal. Lord give me strength - can’t a girl just get her ice cream she...
Read moreIt was just the worst experience in a pub. First of all it was Friday and after a long day we wanted to spend a good time in front of few drinks but we also wanted to have dinner. So we booked a table for 6 and they said “the kitchen is open ‘till 9:30pm’. However, at 8pm the kitchen was closing and the waitress was rushing to take our orders. There was nothing available, no fish and chips, no burgers (a part from the beef one) and the waitress was quite rude to be honest. She also didn’t know anything about the menu, nothing about wine and we can accept this if we find out that she’s new at the pub, but the behaviour and the expression on her face was unacceptable. She was just rude. Anyway, I ordered the first beer, I asked for a lager and she said “we have Heineken”. Ok. It wasn’t available. “I’ll have a pint of something else, just bring me a lager please” and I received a 330ml beer in a bottle for something around £5 and a small and tight glass. My friend didn’t even receive a glass. The chips tasted fish, probably because of the oil used... the bacon in my burger reminded me the cheep one you buy for £0.99 in the supermarket.
Just a nightmare. Pubs in England are normally so good, we’ll go somewhere else for sure, but not here. Not again.
Sorry for the bad review, I know the hard work that there is behind all the organisation, but I...
Read moreOk, so I visited on a Tuesday Afternoon. Didn't expect it to be buzzing, but also didn't expect it to be dead. There was no one in there and no staff to be seen. I waited a minute and someone came from upstairs. No apology for keeping me waiting but pleasant enough otherwise. Beer was fine and the pub itself nice and clean with interesting architectural features. The next guy that came in waited about 5 minutes to get served, despite calling Hello a couple of times. There was constant movement upstairs and at least four people up there. LANDLORD - consider if it is worth opening at 12 on a weekday, you are wasting money on staff and it's not a great advertisement for your pub to have no staff in the bar area. I could probably have poured my second pint myself. It would be a shame to see another...
