1 Star – Absolutely Appalling Experience
I had the worst customer service experience of my life at Subway Clitheroe on 14th April 2025 at 12:56pm, and it has completely destroyed my trust in this brand. I was served by a worker named Josh, who not only treated me with extreme rudeness but also made me feel humiliated in front of everyone.
I placed my order politely, and when it came time to choose my salad and sauce, Josh deliberately left me waiting for over 5 minutes, with no explanation. He was standing right there, saw me clearly, and then went on to serve other customers who came in after me as if I wasn’t even there. When I finally said something, instead of apologizing, he responded in an aggressive and rude tone, saying, “Well, I thought another worker was serving you” — there was no other worker there.
When I pointed this out, he snapped back with “Well, you should’ve told me then!” and gave me a hostile glare that made me feel completely disrespected and embarrassed in front of the entire queue. There was no apology, no accountability — just attitude and arrogance.
To make it worse, I wasn’t even given a receipt for my order — no proof of purchase, no professionalism, nothing. It honestly felt like I was being intentionally mistreated. I walked out of that store feeling shaken, angry, and embarrassed, and I can say with full confidence: I will NEVER step foot in a Subway again after this.
I demand a formal apology and expect this incident to be investigated properly. Josh’s behavior was completely unacceptable, and if this is the kind of staff Subway allows to represent their brand, then the brand itself is failing. Disgusted and deeply...
Read moreWe visited here. The staff member saw us walk in and then walked off into the back leaving us stood there. When she decided to turn up, we asked for 2 of the vegan steak sandwiches as I have a milk allergy and this is the easiest way to avoid it! She then offered us ‘cheese’ which we assumed would be vegan, it usually is when we go for the vegan one but when I double checked she told us we didn’t sell vegan cheese, they do. But maybe they ran out. So I just went without. Salad goes on, and she put on a sauce which I said I don’t think I can eat, it didn’t have the vegan labelling like it usually does. In the end, it was suitable but before we could even check, she slammed the whole sandwich into the bin like a stroppy teenager and started again. So unbelievably rude. I get it, I’m not exactly the easiest customer but no need to make somebody feel so uncomfortable for trusting your workplace with things like allergies. I run a successful independent restaurant and this attitude is disgusting. If we chose to speak to customers or those with dietary requirements (which she didn’t ask about), we would last 5 minutes. The Tuna mayo was spread so thinly no thicker than butter spread, and the egg mayo was slices of egg then a layer of mayo on top again the portions of the fillings are definitely not worth the nearly £8 price ticket.
