Oh dear talk about a place on its last legs ready for being shut down it’s Morrisons cafe in Rochdale used to be a busy bustling place now it’s a place that Rochdale council carers bring vulnerable adults for food . I chose the gluten free cheese toasty with caramelised onion … it came in a sealed bag obviously not fresh then totally devoid of any cheese with mush that tasted oniony .. bread rock hard inedible . I noted all tables full of dirty dishes the two young female employees busy chatting in the kitchen . When so called food brought to me server clutched two sauce satchets asked did I want one ! Tea was piping hot though one plus but they really need to clean the covers that protect the cake slices they were filthy and smudged with last weeks cream . Carers busy looking for a cloth to clean tables oh dear last time for me . By the look of the beggars outside maybe a maccy d’s franchise be better Updated as I was leaving the Costco bought carrot cake was very moist even though the cover over it was filthy ! And they are starting to clear the tables ! Still on its last legs I’m afraid...
Read moreVisited and have done many many times.. Walk in and feels quite eeerryyyy, not many people in, loads of empty tables and its quite cold.. Display cabinets seem empty and not inviting, tables were not clean and surfaces wernt either.. Lots of tables hadn't been cleared away and it wasn't busy. No staff on the till, they were in the back, took a while for them to see us.. Food was passable, some of it hot other bits luke warm.. Cups had been dishwashed and not clean inside properly, I could feel bits stuck on the outside like residue of food.. This used to be a beautiful, clean, welcoming place but its definitely gone down hill.. The atmosphere has gone, you could normally hear a busy kitchen and the clanging of pots.. Looks like half the kitchen isn't in use anymore.. I also understand covid and price inflation has had a massive impact on everything but some things have slipped.. Hygiene isn't how it should be..
Used to enjoy bringing the kids in at least once a week...

Not particularly user friendly or intuitive, there was a long queue and the chap at the front of the queue was really struggling to input his order from a whole series of submenus. It wasn't obvious how to navigate around the various options and what compounded the whole thing was the complete absence of a member of staff to help nursemaid these difficulties. Decided to forgo this experience - very off-putting. And I don't regard myself as a techno phobe either, being reasonably tech savvy with computers. However if you are going to roll out new tech it still needs staff on hand for support, something that managers seem to forget about. Of course when millions of employees eventually face redundancy because of automated technologies in the workplace, this will also prove to be a disaster for the.capitalists as they seem to forget that those former pesky employees were also...
