Updating my previous review after a much better experience.
Yesterday we went to water fold form with 7 other members of the family.
We had a great experience from walking through the door all the way through to leaving. The staff was all pleasant and helpful.
The food was beautiful and lots on the plate it was all timed perfectly. We all left with full tummy's and even a cheeky sweet treat to take away with us.
Yesterday's visit was 100% better this time round.
We went as a family as a Christmas treat after the Santa special. We was warmly welcomed by a manager and escorted to our table. We had a wonderful server who was fantastic she was very lovely and happy to be of assistance. She even carried my mum's carvery over to the table as she saw my mum struggling.
The only thing I have to have a moan about is that the tables was very close together and we was seated behind another group booking. When any of us had to move from our chair it caused disruption to us and the family behind us.
The adult meals was wonderful good portions and rather tasty however we was a little disappointed by the children's meals. The burger was literally a burger on a small unbuttered muffin. There wasn't alot on the plate. The starter was great though.
Then it was time for the pudding. We decided to take our puddings home with us as we was stuffed from the first 2 courses. Later that evening I had my cake which was marvelous and my husband tucked into his chocolate eclair. I could tell something was wrong and he said it tasted funny. I tried a small bit of the cream and he was right the cream had certainly turned and was off.
The few things that we was disappointed at considering the money we had spent made it a little bit...
Read moreDecided to return here after a previous visit where everything was perfect. Today's visit didn't quite match up. To be fair, we visited late on, on a Sunday evening, so one of their busiest times I assume. We had a child with us so we're seated in the family section. Staff were accommodating when we asked to change the tables as there were 8 of us eating and the current layout didn't facilitate that. So that was good. Floor was kinda "dirty" with bits of food been dropped, but with it being in kids section that was kinda understandable. Our server at the till Niamh was great. She was super patient with us as we had to keep nipping back to check people's orders and just generally friendly. She also informed us that if we wanted deserts we needed to order at the same time because they stopped serving shortly, so that was great. We didn't go straight up for food because we had a mix of menu orders and carvery, so we wanted to allow time for the menu orders to arrive. Maybe that was a mistake.. but there was also a miscommunication between staff and when we did go for our carvery they had taken all the meat off and were cleaning up. This meant that the full selection of meat was not available and what made it the worst was the staff members obvious frustrations. Kya maybe needed to step away and process her emotions as she was vocally annoyed and also slamming things around and it wasn't a great customer experience. The manager came over and was lovely as were other carvery servers on at the time. But it was all very awkward and unpleasant. That being said we WERE offered a refund for the carvery side of our bill so that was a bonus. Would we go...
Read moreThe atmosphere upon entering is inviting, with the staff being warm and friendly. It was my first experience visiting Waterfold Farm, and I found it to be clean without concern, seeing the friendly cleaner just finishing off odd spots. The breakfast was good value at £5.99 for a standard size plate, of which three different sizes are offered (small, standard, or large), together with a bottomless cup of tea.
A bonus was that the plates were warm. I heard a customer sat near me say, "its nice to see that the butter is soft enough to spread it on to the toast..."
Self-service with refreshments and toast making facilities were easily accessible. There is a dedicated Family / Children's area, which also has its own entrance. I also noticed and had it confirmed by staff, that there is Free kids disco every Friday 4.40-6.30pm. They also have an Easter offer on, see the pictures.
The breakfast was hot and well cooked, being self-service for everything apart from the sausage and bacon, so self-control and conscience are managed by the serving staff....for good reason!
Overall, should you dismiss it, consider it, or go right ahead and visit it....???
I would definitely recommend giving it a visit. I will most certainly come back, maybe for a lunch or evening meal...
