When will Asian restaurants and takeaways learn that their clientele deserve and want better. I placed a simple order for collection. Lamb Biryani and 2 chapattis. Traditionally, the biryani comes with vegetable curry. Generally, the biryani was bland and boring. It was missing the fragrance and mouth watering aroma essential for a credible and satisfying biryani. The lamb was underwhelming and frugal, but tender. The vegetable curry consisted of a few onions and carrot 2 peas and a potato in a tasteless orange coloured sauce, the consistency and taste of baby food. For a little more effort and hardly any more cost, the curry could have been so much more. The chapatis were good. As someone of asian descent, I know the chef and the staff would never serve food like this to guests in their own homes and certainly not eat it themselves! It's about time customers start to expect theMcCoy, the truly wonderful kitchen asians experience every day. If we expect it, restaurants like Shuhag would give it to us, and we would...
Read moreI haven't been there for about 3 years and the food used to be good. The problem I had then was that they didn't turn the drunks away who became abusive and loud which ruined the romantic feel. This is why I hadn't been since...Anyway I decided to try it again today and really regret it!!! The service was very slow, we had to wait almost an hour after finishing poppadums before the main course arrived. The portion of rice was good but the Bombay aloo and our main dishes were very small portion sizes. The sauce tasted more like gravy than the Rogan, it should have been... My dish came out last and was steaming hot but the rest of the food was barely warm when it arrived. No-one asked if we were ok, nor were we asked if we needed another drink even though our glasses were empty... The restaurant wasn't that busy either so no idea why it took so long or why it was so bad.... We certainly won't be visiting them...

"Shoe bag? I don't need new shoes." "Shuhag, Auntie." "Eh?" "Shuhag..." "Doodads?" "SHUHAG!" There was an extended pause before she replied. "Eh?" she said. Anyway, once we were seated I asked Auntie Mildred what she would like to eat. "I forgot me glasses," she said, "I can't read the menu. Just gimme a spaghetti bolognaise." "It's an Indian restaurant, Auntie." "Eh?" "INDIAN!" "No, I was born...
