Turkish Kitchinn — Restaurant in Rochford

Just back from a fantastic meal at Turkish Kitchinn. Feeling very full, portions are generous. Service is excellent in this small, but perfectly formed restaurant. Staff are friendly and efficient.We decided on a midweek booking as this establishment is fully booked at weekends, and deservedly so. The food is amazing, full of flavour and wonderfully combined. We tried the hot meze starter for two this time. Stand out items for me were the calamari in a light batter and sigara boregi , crisp filled rolls of filo, devine! My Cappadocia was great! Tender chicken, whole almonds, raisins and dried apricots with rice and salad. Gorgeous dish, quite sweet, we were warned, but delicious. My partner's kuzo sote looked and smelled fab! He ate all of it even though he was full half way through, just too good to leave! We could not manage dessert, but were brought a small complimentary baklava. Just enough to taste the lovely flavours, but small enough to devour with relish. We finished with espressos and brandy, both lovely and then a complimentary limoncello with our bill. This restaurant is incredible. Small space, but well organised, short menu, well cooked, great ethic. Have I said how much I enjoyed it?!!!!! So much!!!!! It was absolutely wonderful. I am usually quite picky & hate places which do meals from frozen & charge you inadequately. So this place is nothing like that! I loved my starters ( loads to choose from & all very good with different colour salad & even pomegranate seeds with crest !), my main arrived as a huge lamb shank ( which was slowly cooked & simply melted in my mouth) on potato puree & lots of salad .I would recommend it .And wow what tasty homemade desserts they offer ! I tried two ( pears in some syrup were not too sweet & I absolutely loved them & something like english cheescake but million times better!). I would definitely go there again. We have had dinner here several times now and have never been disappointed. The food is very authentic and every dish we have tried has been very good. The staff are super-helpful and are great at talking through the menu options and making recommendations. The portions are large, but it's hard nit yo try to eat all of it as it's so tasty.
