Bit hit & miss. Resigned myself to experiencing a varied service depending on the staff working and the mood they're in. Sausage and bacon sometimes cold, bread can be tough and dry. Coffee not always hot. A few franchise running points; Remove the plastic COVID screens. Not needed any more, staff can't hear your order and they can't serve you where you stand but instead carry your order further down the counter put of arms length. Don't Insist on making the 1st thing out of the staffs' mouths be "eat in or takeaway?" This is so impersonal, a more natural approach of a good morning and Listening to the customer's order would be preferable, if they did this they probably hear from the customer their preferences on where they'd like to eat the food they've yet to order. As important as I realise having the food being put on to cook is, compared to other Greggs franchises I have visited where the level of queue snaking around the shop is enough to alarm the serving staff to ask some kitchen staff to help reduce the queue temporarily, the staff here appear completely oblivious. Round the shop and out the door in the rain the queue has been before now and the insistence that they stick with the one member of staff frustrates the customers and makes a Fast Food visit in to...
Read moreI gave a 5-star review, for a delivery earlier in the summer but when I called in the last 2 times, it's been nothing but utterly shocking..the service is beyond the worst I've ever experienced. There were three customers in front of me when I picked up some wedges from the hot plate and by the time I got to the counter, they were cold! Why? Because, apparently it takes two people to make a bacon roll, one to make it and one to dance around the place and singing, not helping one bit, while two further staff were out the back doing god knows what. As the queue grew longer behind me, up to at least 6-8 different customers, I decided to question how slow they were serving. My answer was, "They were doing online orders". I said there's a queue here, shouldn't we have first preference? Several customers walked out in disgust. When I arrived into the shop the oven was on 12 minutes 49 seconds, by the time I got to the counter the oven was on 1 minute 6 seconds. This never happens in any other establishment. When I got my food, it was cold. An awful shame considering I spent over £15. In my opinion, changes are needed!!! And quick!!! If you want hot food, avoid this...
Read moreLook up 'under staffed' in any dictionary and you'll find a picture of this place. It's my local so go quite a lot while out on a dog walk. Never gets better. Today 4th person in the queue but still in the queue for 20 minutes. Why? Three staff. One preparing food and filling the ovens (btw ovens take 20 minutes to cook bacon). Other two staff juggle counter service and the delivery pick ups. The counter staff will ask for more pastries when there is one left..... So if you go in and there is one 'hot' sausage roll left you've probably got a 20 minute wait for yeh second one. Also the staff are obviously worn down by the constant moaning they get caused by the poor service. Don't ever say 'dont take this personal love' because they certainly will do and give back as good as they get. Overall, avoid. If only to potentially lower my own queueing time the...
