A game of two halves this place. Went to the restaurant section so can't comment in the separate bar downstairs (there is also a bar in the restaurant). The side of the restaurant with the bar is quite nice but round the other side where the pizza bar is it feels quite dated and a bit cramped in all honesty. Who wallpapers the ceiling these days! Anyhow I digress - to the food and service. The food itself is perfectly acceptable. Don't expect to be blown away - it's relatively cheap pub food so you get what you pay for but it's as good as most place by and large. Pizzas are freshly made and they are spot on. However the service is a mess. Nothing was brought to the table (not counting puddings here). Pizzas and burgers are collected by way of a buzzer system and have their own service bar. Then you have to go round to the carvery section to get some chips etc. Why not put them right there at that section. There is a salad bar there but vast majority of people will have chips with such food. So you have to get in a queue with the carvery people. in the meantime your burger/pizza is getting colder. Even meals such as battered fish and Mediterranean Tart have be collected at the carvery station. It's probably part of the selling point to allow people a sort of 'all you can eat option' to your meal but it's a mess. Especially when there is only one place to get all the chips, veg etc etc. I can only imagine the queues will be a nightmare when it's packed. Everyone ends up walking around with a plate of food. In an all you can eat place, like the one that was at Tankersley there were numerous places to get food from. This place is kind of a halfway house that doesn't work well because it's not set out that well. More separation of where to collect food would help and have some meals already portioned and brought to your table would help too. Oh on a final note put some condiments other than salt and pepper on the...
Read moreCame to dine with you yesterday, when we arrived they were no one on the door and was left stood waiting alone with another party before us, after approx 5 minutes, we were offered a couple of tables so chose to sit in on of the window bays. Nobody explained how things work only apart from to keep your mask on when walking round the venue and take it off when sat, i didn't see any staff member wear any kind of mask, unless they all have health problems that makes them exempt. After 5 minutes we were offered table service and was asked if we would like any drinks, we did and the receipt time was 18.45. my wife then had to ask for some menus and the server clearly hadn't just come from charm school brought them over, approximately 5 mins after this the table next to us vacated and was cleaned, I asked the staff member how we ordered food she replied i will just finish cleaning and i will come and take your order. I appreciate we all make mistakes from time to time and understand this however is wasn't very busy at all, at 19.20 the table staff still had not been to take our order so my wife asked the same staff member who cleaned the table to see if we could order "haven't you ordered yet" was the reply from the staff member, no we were waiting for you oh im so sorry.
We ordered 3 starters and 3 mains ( 1 carvery, 1 burger, chip platter not available so had a pizza) they brought out the starters quickly along with the carvery after my wife had told the server to tell them we wanted the carvery the same time as the burger and pizza, when we had finished the starters the burger and pizza came but not carvery, a few minutes later the carvery arrived but was told the sausage for the carvery was on its way, this arrived approx 5 mins later none of us enjoyed our mains. All in all we were in your place nearly 2 hours, and not an...

I came here on father’s day, which granted is a busy day, with my parents to treat them both and the service was terrible. We were told on arrival that food would be a 40-45 minutes wait which is longer than we anticipated but said that was ok as we were already there now. We ordered food and drinks via the app, which was recommended on a table sticker due to covid, and our drinks arrived a few minutes later. While we was waiting we heard several tables complaining about wait times and inquiring where their food was, to which they were told it was very busy despite the pub being pretty empty with only a few tables occupied. Another table also had to send their food back, which they said they had waited 40 minutes for, because it was cold. 45 minutes passed and we had finished our first drink so ordered some more, however after an hour of waiting our food and second drinks were still nowhere to be seen. Several tables which arrived after us had also ordered and received their food in this time as well, so I asked a waitress how much longer it was going to be. She quickly checked the system and informed us that neither our original order or the second drinks order had been put through, so we had essentially been sat waiting over an hour for food that was never going to arrive. While I understand father’s day is a busy time for restaurants, waiting over an hour for 3 burgers is absolutely ridiculous and especially when the order hasn’t even been put through to the kitchen. This was meant to be a nice treat for my parents which turned into us walking out and ordering my a takeaway back at home. This was my first time attending The Drawbridge and it’s safe to say I will NEVER be...
