Dear Wentworth Garden Centre Cafe, I am writing to express my disappointment with the portion size of the fish and chips I received at your cafe. I counted only 13 chips on my plate, which is barely enough to feed a small bird, let alone a hungry human! When my food was delivered, the fish was presented on top of the chips, completely obscuring them from view. I almost said, "Where are the chips?" before I realised they were hidden under the fish. When I expressed my concern to the staff, I was told that this was your "normal portion size." I find this hard to believe, as even the mice in my garden have bigger portions than this! To your credit, I was eventually granted 8 more chips, but by that point, I was already so hungry that I could have eaten the entire bag of potatoes in your kitchen. I must also comment on your serviettes. They are tiny and single ply - talk about stingy! I feel like I would need to use ten of them just to wipe my nose, let alone my mouth. Overall, I must say that my experience at your cafe was less than satisfactory. My partner and I will not be visiting again, but will instead stick with our much better local garden centre - at least they know how to feed their customers! Sincerely, A Disappointed Chip-Lover

Called for a second time and had the steak and potato pie for lunch. Half a decent pie, standard chips, poor peas and gravy, wouldn't have this again. First time here this Saturday morning, called for breakfast. Both inside and outside seating at this dog friendly eatery was excellent. Rather a queue for meals (the second counter is a good idea just for drinks and snacks) where table service may have been more efficient. Coffee and cappuccino excellent. The English breakfast was lovely, the only let down was the hash browns, and the egg, whilst decent, could have been better. Seated inside the reception for EE was non existent, no WiFi available, not an issue, but might be for some. All the staff that we met with were lovely.

We love it here, would visit more if we could afford it, and we already visit 2-3 times a month. Caters for dietary needs including gluten free & dairy free, and can adapt orders according to need. The breakfasts are fabulous. The staff are friendly & helpful. The cakes are amazing. Gets very busy and there's no internet signal once in the building so if you're meeting someone make sure you let them know where you are before getting inside. Toilets are always clean & there is disabled access for parking, entrance/exit & toilets. There is a conservatory and a patio attached to the walled garden restaurant/cafe which allows dogs too. Dogs aren't allowed in the main section though. They also have water bowls outside for dogs.

Had festive Yorkshire pudding with stuffing and turkey, do not recommend. No taste to anything, apart from the carrots. Stuffing was missing and then brought later as soggy ball, not oven cooked at all as expected. Would have been nice also to have cranberry and pigs and blankets with it, that’s what I call festive and what’s expected for £13 from a cafe! Lemon meringue, looked delicious, taste awful just all sweet and not tart lemon flavour in any way as it should be. A lot of money spent on my mother’s birthday treat and came out really disappointed. Waiting staff and people serving were pleasant. Just an idea, it might make their life easier if tables were numbered. They spent more time looking for the table numbers which were given at the till point. Took over 30 mins for our food to arrive. I had to ask where it was as everyone around who arrived much later seemed to get there’s quite quick. A few jokingly commenting that ours had not turned up. That’s second poor experience I’ve had in two visits,...

Lovely food, accurately priced for the place you at, but is a nightmare trying to get a seat,

We went last weekend, and all 3 of us got in the queue order our meals. Once we had paid, we were walking about looking for somewhere to sit for 10 minutes. The waiter had brought our food out and was following us about looking for a table, the problem is that people are coming in to the cafe and sitting down while there partners are in queue when they are perfectly able to stand there aswell, I can recall of 3 people sat down at separte tables that didn't have food or drinks. We did finally find somewhere to sit, which was in the glorified marquee they have on the end of the building where dogs are allowed.

When we had eaten our food and got up and walked back through the cafe to leave. The same 3 people I had noticed when looking for a table were still sitting waiting for their partners to bring drinks/food from the queue.

This seating issue needs addressing because we were not the only people in...
