Extra Fish Bar — Restaurant in Rugby

Visited for the first time since the takeover, and it was a complete disaster. My wife ordered food for the kids, and they tried to serve us leftover fries. When she asked for fresh ones, the staff started talking in Hindi while pointing at her, which felt disrespectful. The situation got worse from there.

The hygiene standards were shocking. One staff member was openly scratching their butt, then immediately touched the utensils without washing their hands. Another scratched their nose repeatedly and proceeded to handle food as if nothing happened. Their uniforms were visibly dirty, and it was clear hygiene was not a priority.

To top it off, the delivery driver, still dressed in his cycling gear, was in the kitchen helping with food preparation. It was incredibly off-putting to see someone who just came off the street handling food without proper attire or cleanliness.

We also had to throw away the beans because the staff fill the cups back in the kitchen while laughing and joking amongst themselves. With the rest we were vary careful .The lack of professionalism and disregard for basic cleanliness was alarming.

Inaccurate, rude and unacceptable staff behaviour from a young brown woman here. I placed an order online via Foodhub for Collection. I ordered 2 x Mixed Kebab Naan, 1 x Regular Chips, 1 x Savoury Rice, 1 x Curry Sauce. I drove some 5 miles to collect the order and drove home. Opened the order, to realise the Regular Chips are missing! Very poor considering this is a takeaway chip shop. I telephoned Extra Fish Bar and told them "I've just collected an order from you and got home to realise there is no regular chips in the order". They ended the call immediately. I'm quite sure it was the same woman who served the order and answered the phone. I understand people can make mistakes, however the customer service to rectify the mistake speaks for itself. This also leaves me with a chip on my shoulder having spent £2.90 for nothing and being treated badly for no reason. I walked in and approached the counter, the place was empty, the young middle-eastern woman at the counter right in front of me totally ignored me and made no eye contact, so eventually I had to ask for my order, there was then the bare minimum of communication to fulfill the order. There was nowhere to sit down while waiting although plenty of room for seating. My card didn't take contactlessly and the void receipt was just dropped onto the counter for me to pick up while I was bluntly told to put my card in the machine. No smiles or eye contact or warmth of communication at any time, no thank you or goodbye on leaving.
