A good real ale pub with a BBQ in the garden which they use every so often, so worth keeping an eye out on Facebook for any events!
We visited for their âcider and sausage festivalâ over the August bank holiday, with BBQâd sausages including bratwurst (and 5 other sausage types/options). The bratwurst was great - as are the chips from the kitchen, and my partner enjoyed trying the range of ciders from local breweries/cideries.
The Languedoc-Roussillon Chardonnay I had however was quite nasty - not vinegary enough for it to be faulty, but very acidic, lacking in fruit flavours and I think just generally a poor choice of wine...
   Read moreLovely establishment thats just outside of the town centre but well worth looking for! Staff are very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable on all the wide range of drinks stocked. Landlord and landlady are very hospitable although the landlords jokes are terrible. They serve a wide range of traditional beers, gins and whiskeys and also serve homemade scotch eggs and locally sourced pork pies that are well worth a try. Sports is aimed towards rugby football rather than proper football and they will even serve LONDON wasps fans. PUSB ...need to stock more...
   Read moreLifesaver!!!! âJust round the cornerâ from the local Travelodge, this hidden gem is a class-act, an exemplar pub and a real delight to be in. The place itself is beautiful and the contents beautiful, well kept and varied. Wonderful, helpful âcan-doâ staff top it off!
