Oh dear. 50 quid gets you the following - Cracked mirror, wall plaster cracked, room stank of mold/damp combined with the lungs of someone who smokes 80 a day, single dangling bulb for a light, non-mixer taps in the bog (hello 80's) Nasty soiled chair, springy coil mattress (ouch) lethal shower (incredibly slippery bathrub) bathroom vent blocked with filth/dust, worn out and tired decor, grubby, filthy sash window, 20+ year old pillows, paper thin walls, loud drunken noise / music and cig smoke wafts right into the room from the bar/door below through the drafty window till 11.30, a loud earthquake sounding compressor that runs for 5 minutes 3-4 times an hour (bring ear plugs) breakfast is not included (website misleading about this) Overall cheap, mean, nasty, noisy, unwelcoming. Fabulous. Lovely, small pub in the centre of a pretty village.

We chose the pub purely at random; we needed food, it was open. Place was very busy for a Thursday night, with almost all tables in use. Staff quickly came and took a drinks order and returned with one of the best pints of beer I've had in a very long time.

The pub was (is?) doing a terrific deal on steak meals so we ordered two sirloin and chips meals, one rare, one medium rare. They arrived and were perfect. Normally, we receive identical steaks, either both rare or both pretty overcooked but these really were bang on the money. And they came with triple cooked chips. It really is one of the best meals we've had in a pub. It's Saturday morning as I write this and I'm salivating at the thought of the food.

My first visit to the Green man was a pleasant experience , after being told about it by a family member so thought I would try it for myself , 5 of us visited on a friday evening including the family member that had recommended it , despite the restaurant being busy , always a good indication of how good a restaurant is in my books , the service was impeccable very attentive and the food arrived promptly soon after we had ordered , which was all cooked perfectly , highly recommend the mixed grill which I had , no complaints from any of our party , and very reasonably priced also each of us paying around £26 each this included a pint each and a bottle of wine with the two steak meals deal ,will definitely be returning in the near future , all in all a very pleasant evening at...
