Myself, other half and my toddler son came in for dinner around 18:30, we were seated pretty quickly. Very nice location, quiet and cozy. Onto the bad. Asked the waiter for a bottle of water and he did not bring a glass for my son. We asked for the food for my son to be brought out first as it was already late for him and he was very hungry. We were served the starters but my son got just the side, a burned up garlic bread, but he wanted his fish and chips as he was hungry. We had to go and ask about his meal and were told that there are 2 friers to prevent cross contamination, no real excuse, no apology. We were dismissed and this was a discussion with the manager. 10 minutes later his food came out and another 10-15 minutes our mains also came out. My steak was room temperature, fries were hot. At the end we were brought the bill and at full price, I thought that we would at least get the garlic bread off. I went to speak to the manager again and I got was "there are other tables before you that take priority" no apology, nothing. I tried explaining that I'm upset for the lack of care for my son but all I got was excuses, like we had done something wrong. I feel like we were supposed to be thankful we were allowed in instead of being welcomed and treated nicely. I was too upset to take the managers name but he's the tall, blue eyed, black haired guy. If you're reading this, I have 7 years of catering experience, I would never treat someone the way you did. Never...
Read moreWe had a table of 12 yesterday evening and Unfortunately overall it was not a good service for us, the chef could not cope with the 12 people on our table as dishes came out wrong and other dishes not cooked as asked and alot of it came out cold, there seems to be a real issue with timing of the food with big tables and I actually finished my meal before my partner even got hers!
My partner had the chicken kebab and the fact that it cost around £17 and there were only 2 small chunks of chicken on the kebeb which i just found insulting for the price.
Even dessert, some of us got them after around 15 minutes of ordering and 2 people on our table didn't get there's until nearly 20 minutes after we got ours, yet again poor competency and timing from the kitchen.
I think the price on alot of items isn't worth it and that fact that pretty much a pint of any soft drink is £4 was also quite a surprise as I find that alot of money just for a soft drink.
I will say our servers were attentive when we had a problem and did there best to resolve the issues from the kitchen but ultimately we all spent alot of money for a service that was just really below par. By the time our bill came we couldn't be bothered to complain anymore as it was really late due to the kitchen issues and we just wanted to pay and get out.
Unfortunately...
Read moreWhile there were some enjoyable aspects of the meal, there were also several issues that left us disappointed.
To start, we waited over an hour for our starters and a further 45 minutes for our mains. When we asked about the delay, we were told it was due to a large party, but it would have been helpful to have been informed of this at the beginning of our visit.
Regarding the food:
The lamb kofta starters and halloumi were delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed them.
However, we ordered one gluten-free prawn cocktail, and there was confusion when it arrived as the staff wasn’t sure if it was gluten-free. We then had to wait another 20 minutes for a missing prawn cocktail, which unfortunately arrived almost frozen. While we appreciate that this was removed from the bill, it was disappointing nonetheless.
For the mains, the macaroni cheese was excessively oily, and both the burgers were burnt, which detracted from the overall experience.
While I understand that the kitchen may have been under pressure due to the large party, the quality of the food and the length of the delays fell short of expectations. I do appreciate the gesture of removing the problematic prawn cocktail from the bill, and the starters were a highlight...
