Plough & Horses Pub — Restaurant in Rushmoor

We arranged to meet friends for a drink n chat at a cosy pub with a real fire, found the plough & horses after googling cosy pubs in the country. It wasn't exactly in the country but hey ho, looked ok from the outside. We arrived before our friends. As we went in we could here thump thump from the music, oh dear, looks like we picked a party night! Not to worry let's give it a try... fairly busy with we assumed a local crowd enjoying themselves. We ended up sitting as far away from the DJ as we could. Decor, not cosy at all, no roaring fire, we didn't even spot the fireplace until we were leaving! All we could do was apologise to our friends for choosing the wrong pub on that occasion. The service could've been slightly friendlier, sort of felt like we were an inconvenience of sorts but maybe that was because we were crashing in on a locals event? We could've left and found somewhere else but we stuck with it and actually had a fairly enjoyable evening, not quite what we had in mind but it was ok. My friend and I visited for the Sunday Roast. Service was good. Did not have to wait long for food and drinks. Pleasant young staff. Was so looking forward to a proper Sunday roast. However, the roast potato's were horrid. When the young waitress cleared the plates from the table she asked how the food was. I pointed to the potatoes which remained on my plate. I told her they were horrible, hard, overcooked and tasted like pre-cooked frozen potatoes. Reply was very sweet, apologised and said that she would tell the chef. I ordered 3 takeout Chicken Roasts this Sunday for my mum & 2 other family members as I cannot get out to see my family currently. Mum had a kids size meal she lives near the plough so she collected hers. The 2 adult roast chicken meals were delivered locally. All 3 meals were given 10 out of 10, they all thoroughly enjoyed them thank you very much. Meals were still hot on arrival, all of it very tasty, the chicken was delicious all served in good containers even the gravy which can all be recycled.
