The cafe and playground are an invaluable and much-needed asset to Southwood Woodlands; for families, friends and dog-walkers alike.

Dog-friendly, the cafe has water bowls and lots of seating outside. Playground is for 12s and under. Under 3s to be supervised. A good range of equipment for young and older kids. Swings, 2 slides, roundabout, zip line, logs, climbing ropes, fireman's pole etc.

The visitors centre has a cafe inside called Chalk in the Park which we visited. Although it seems quite expensive at first, the cakes we had were delicious and the menu looks amazing. A lemon drizzle slice and a slice of carrot cake were nearly £7. Customer service was excellent; friendly, welcoming and helpful. Service with a smile!

Toilets were clean and again, much needed in the area. We look forward to seeing what else the visitor centre has to offer for schools etc...

Free parking, clean toilets, lovely cafe with good food and yummy hot chocolate. Seating inside and out, wooden benches and grassy areas to sit perhaps in the summer. Great for dogs, and lovely play park for the kids. There's plenty there for kids, wooden climbing frames for all ages, slides and climbing netting. Zip line for older kids. My 4, 11 and 12 yo loved it. My little one fell off a climbing frame as I was distracted for a moment but luckily the soft flooring helped him to not be hurt. Clean and nicely spaced out and good food. We had fluffy crunchy chips (perhaps a bit salty, so ask for no salt if you don't want that for your child), nice sausage, and yummy bacon sarnie with rocket and toasted...

Southwood Country Park is a wonderful spot, especially for dog owners. The location is lovely, with well-maintained paths perfect for leisurely walks. There’s a great kids playground that includes a zip line! It's incredibly dog-friendly, with plenty of open areas for your furry friends to explore and socialize. With mix of wooded areas and open fields, it makes a great place for a peaceful stroll or an energizing walk with your dog. Whether you're a local or just visiting, Southwood Country Park is a fantastic spot to enjoy the outdoors. The cafe is also very inviting, has a great menu and wonderful staff. Grab a hot drink for you walk and a bite afterwards. You won’t be...

Country Park split across two sections by the road. One half houses the cafe, toilets and playground, with some walks along footpaths available. The other half is the reclaimed golf course, consisting of longer walks with less facilities available. Car parking is free and the cafe is well stocked and fairly priced. The food we ordered was excellent and good value. The entire site is dog friendly (bar the playground) and even has a free dog rinse for you to hose off your pooch if they decide to explore the muddier areas of the walks.

This quite large cafe has a number of unique features. A playground, Free parking, dog friendly eating area and most of all a cleaning cubical. An outside wooden facility with a bench and shower head. You can wash the paws and coat before then cleaning the mud off the dog. 5 stars for the person who thought that up. The breakfast was wholesome and served to table. A great place to stop.

Cafe is fab and the space is perfect for multiple uses… however. The car park entrance is an absolute nightmare. It is narrow and unnecessarily awkward, not to mention it is covered in wooden bollards. I’ve damaged my car and looking at the offending bollard, I’m not the only one. If you have a large car it’s a nightmare.
