Too Long; Didn't Read - Incredibly tasty, good portioned, comforting soul-food, served by lovely staff.

Full Review; I decided to stop in to Taste Buds as I was passing through Farnham due to the good reviews, reasonable price, and simple but comprehensive menu.

I've never had authentic Jamaican food before so asked the lady behind the about their most popular dishes and I was recommended to try the Jerk Chicken and Curry Goat for myself and my other half, so I ordered 1 small portion of each.

Both portions were served quickly after being reheated which were of a good size for lunch. The meats were served with rice & peas, as well as something that looked like cooked cabbage salad (though I forgot to ask what this was).

The dishes were excellent. The rice was tasty and well cooked. The cabbage salad was delicious and accompanied the dishes well.

The Curried Goat was tender, flavourful, and perfectly cooked. I cannot fault it. However the Jerk Chicken was the star. It was even better than the Curried Goat. Lovely barbecue flavour which tasted like it had been cooked on a charcoal barbecue, and I suspect this was the case with the barbecue visible in the kitchen. It was sweet yet spicy and delicious. My only very minor gripe with the Jerk Chicken is that if you're having this dish by itself, some more jerk sauce would've been nice as it would've balanced out the rice a bit. That wasn't an issue for me as I had 1/2 a portion of Curried Goat alongside so I had plenty of sauce for the rice. I think if I were to order again I'd either have a mixed portion for £9 (2 of any meat except fish), or just ask for a bit more sauce on the rice.

We also bought a couple of cans of Ginger Beer and Cream Soda which were great and perfect accompaniments to the meal, but also had Peanut Punch for the first time. This was like a thick peanut milkshake in a carton; thoroughly recommended!

Easy to order, good website with menu and pricing, and parking...

Though I'm a visitor to the UK, I'm Jamaican born and know good yawd food. We stumbled upon Taste Buds while on a recent trip to the UK. While on our way to the Tesco Super Center via Google maps, I recognized my Jamaican flag and colours. It's our habit, when traveling at home, in the US, or anywhere abroad, to sample yawd food from any Jamaican restaurant either by seeking one out or stopping if we stumble across them. This was a definite stumble and we stopped just up the road and walked back. Add to the mix the fact that we've gone vegan since about 4 months ago and you know that we were definitely interested in sampling the vegan options of traditional Jamaican cusine. Though the didn't have any callaloo ready, I can't dig them for that because... When I tasted their rice and peas I felt like food critic Anton Ego in the film Ratatouille. I was immediately transferred back to that moment in my childhood... the moment when someone you loved made you the best food ever. The husband and wife duo are there cooking, serving the customers and just working hard. As previous reviewers have said, they give you "proper portions" and you can eat in with "proper" plates and silverware at a reasonable price. When I meet Jamaican people like D&K, it mek me proud because they're givin' you an authentic Jamaican food experience filled with love for what they do. They remind me of the phrase: "wi likkle but we tallawah!" Next time I'm in Guildford, UK I know where I am going to eat. As a matter of fact, we are headed back tomorrow for...

My wife and I were very pleased with our experience at Tastebuds Caribbean Cuisine today. We are native Jamaicans, and were missing the authentic taste of home. We had given up any hope of finding the authentic Jamaican flavours until we went to Tastebuds Caribbean Cuisine. Good Jamaican food is one thing, but customer service on top of that is the whole experience and Kelly was amazing. It was our first time there and the first words out of her mouth to us was in patois which made us instantly comfortable.

The food portion and flavour were authentically Jamaican. The portion on your plate in JA is a big deal and Tastebuds did not shy away from the portion. The curried goat and jerk chicken were done superbly. You could taste the grill of the jerk chicken. My wife had the oxtail and I had the curry coat and they were both tender. Cooked to perfection and flavourful.

The fried dumplings and festivals lik wi fi six (were out of this world). We couldn't finish them, so we had to get a to go box.

Didn't have to wait for a table, and it was amazing the number of people we saw within the span of 1 hour coming and going, to the point that they ran out of friend chicken.

This was truly a Jamaican 'food shop' experience and we are definitely going back to Tastebuds Caribbean Cuisine.

Highly...

Updated: Thank you for replying and explaining your side. We do like the food BUT if there will be no improvements on the service then, the customers' time is ours and it's up to us if we will keep embracing the queue. I care about your business hence I put the concern forward. The options to improve the service are the following: First, spot in Google which time you are busy, you will also know through experience what times you are generally busy, once identified, either you hire a temporary person for few hours or the gentleman inside may help you, at least take the order or process the payment. The waiting is truly horrible, 45 minutes the last time, in case the awareness was not identified. For one person to deal with all the people flocking in your store, it's too much. Check the clock and put a poll about the service timings then you will come to know how your customers feel about it. I hope you could recognise the genuine concern on your business, if not, then, at least I cared about your business ----- Food is good, the waiting is something they should improve. Too many times it happens so it’s worth to tell the owners. Pls take on a positive view
