Brackmans — Restaurant in Salford

Though not Jewish, I went to Brakmans for some Hamantash - because they are sold only for a limited period, and judging from past experience Brackmans did the best tasting ones anywhere! Unfortunately, like the past reviewer, I too had a bad experience with their service as the young shop assistants repeatedly served other people coming into the shop and ignored me. I even gave her hand gestures indicating that I was waiting and next in queue, but was completely ignored. In the end I stormed out of the shop and went to a Jewish bakery down the street where I was served fairly in the queue, and with courtesy and friendliness. Sadly, I cannot agree or disagree with your negative reviewer regarding the quality of food/ hamantash - because I was not given a chance to try it! It appears that you only get served with dignity and fairness here if you are Jewish, as my friend received thesame treatment as me in this shop a few months later! I visit every week for fresh bread,bagels and a tea to go. The cakes are wonderful too. Their bakery and coffee shop is excellent plus its great for small functions serving platters of finger sandwiches and fancy cakes etc which can be ordered to take away too.

They do eat in or take away. Fresh sandwiches made while you wait on your choice of bread, bagel etc. Plus fresh soups, pizza and more. Usual tea's and coffee's.

Plenty of seats if you want to stop for breakfast, lunch or anytime during the day when you are free.

The establishment is clean. Most staff are friendly and courteous.

I am no longer local to the shop but I do make an effort to fit it in to my routine. I often meet others whom travel for their produce...

What can I say? Marvellous place. We've just celebrated one of our kid's birthdays here and we will definitely be returning for the Barmitzvah. The food, service and friendliness of the staff was fantastic. The birthday cake was to die for. Andrew Addleman is a legend of the confectionary industry the likes of which have only ever been seen in fictionalised accounts such as Willy Wonka or Mr. Kipling. Handy location too and parking in abundance. There is a park opposite and this makes an ideal day out for all the family. Cannot wait to...
