I am writing to express my disappointment regarding a recent experience at Istanbul Restaurant, Bury Road, Manchester. 3rd February 2024 myself as single mum with my 4 children visited for dinner, and unfortunately, our evening took an unexpected turn.

While enjoying our meal, we were approached by a staff member who informed us that we needed to wrap up our dinner quickly as we have spend more time in the restaurant and asked to take away the rest of our food. This abrupt request caught us off guard, as we were still in the midst of our meal, and it created a rushed and uncomfortable atmosphere for my children and me. Though, there were other customers came before us and still enjoying their meal.

We even planned to have sweets after our meal and were told during our order that we can order that later. However, the very staff denied and refuse to serve the sweet and can only order for takeaway. It was disheartening to be rushed through our dinner, especially with young children who were left confused and upset by the situation. We felt unwelcome and did not have the opportunity to savor our meal or enjoy the dining experience as we had hoped.

I believe that customer satisfaction is crucial for the success of any restaurant, and unfortunately, our recent visit did not meet our expectations. This was second time I had this experience along with my kids. However, this time I want to share not only because I felt disrespected and un-welcome, but, I felt very bad for my children all under 10year old who were the only reason I forgot my past experience and came back to enjoy the evening.

I took the matter with other staff member on front desk but did not receive any apologies or remorse.

I have decided not to visit this restaurant anymore and spend my money and time at a place where my family and my children are more welcome.

I had the best experience in Merzee Restaurant, Longsight Manchester every time we visit and expected similar here. This was a mistake to go to Istanbul restaurant, Bury Road Manchester.

I won’t recommend to any one with family and children going to Istanbul Restaurant, Bury Road, Manchester where one pay for being disrespected and insulted for your own money one is spending.

I have attached copy of the receipt to prove my visit for the public I am...

What amazing !

While you're wondering where you can dine with your family and friends in the Christmas days, I was told by a friend the Istanbul will open on the Christmas and Boxing dates.

The restaurant is easily found when driving through the Cheetham Hill Road, M8 9JN, Manchester. You won't be lost the location of this restaurant when driving through on the Cheetham Hill Road. Your eyesight will be attracted by a golden and brilliant shop sign of " ISTANBUL" of this restaurant afar by a distant hundred meter away.

When entering the restaurant, you will be overwhelmed by a spacious, gorgeous and splendid dining hall and a warm welcome from staff members as well. The restsurant also gives you the impression of a Middle - East palace feeling in the contrast of black marble walls plus the brightening gold colour of the lighting.

About the cuisines. They are signatures of Turkish BBQ skews of beef, mutton or chicken to be your choices . Sea Brass, King Prawns and Salomons are food that you can enjoy.

All cources are all served with white rice or couscous. This can serve for the "Big - Stomach and starving glourmets" You won't be in an empty stomach when you going out.

Their combined kebeb of "Beef and Chicken in Doners" , "Charcol Lamb Ribs with Couscous", Skew of Mixed Veggis" and the "Charcol Chicken Wings" are highly recommended. These cources can full up "Six People's " without a further bits except the sweeties.

The temptation of Turkish desserts is unable to be forgotten after the main meals. The back temptation of Chocolate Fontant that people can't be resisted.

Another is the "Kunefe", a pie filled with sweet shredded coconut, a tast of the coconut fragrance to make your flow of mouth water.

The "Caramel Apple Crumble" is a must you have to try.

The tast of a" Caramelpple crumble must be put into your desserts oder. The apple filling gives you a fresh tast of fruit of chewing.

The last that to finish the enjoyment of your meal is by a cup of Turkish tea and the condensed coffee. The coffee has a bitter tast one to be honest.

The cost of the meal for 6 people was afforable at...

@istanbulrestaurantmanchester a fairly new Turkish restaurant in the heart of Cheetham Hill, a great spot for the Turkish Food lovers 😍

We were welcomed by the staff and taken to our socially distanced table (I kinda like it how it is now 😂👀)

We ordered the Sucuk from the Hot Mezzes section, if you’ve been Turkey, these go down really well, a favourite! The Sucuk was spiced and tasted great, it was a little on the tough side as it is usually softer, but went down well with the mint sauce that came with it 🤤

For mains, we had the Mix Grill and the Mixed Iskender both with rice 👀

The mix grill meat was grilled to perfection, it wasn’t too oily or greasy, it was a little high on the salt side, but wasn’t too much to put us off, the flavour was amazing, sand if Turkish food is something you enjoy, this could be a winner! The rice was a little bland from what I’ve experienced in the past, but still went well with the grill 🤤

The Iskender was tried by my brother: here’s his take:

First of all I didn’t have much expectation with Turkish food because I know how well their tastes majority of the time, what I ordered from Istanbul Restaurant was the mixed iskender which was was a mixture of lamb and beef but shredded on top of a soft bread marinated with a rich tomato sauce with the addition of yogurt on the side, the meat itself was very high quality so it really stood out and complemented everything. The yogurt can be a little sour however it had a rich creamy tasting texture which went well. I still very much enjoyed it 🔥🤤

To drink: we had the Turkish imported Orangeade, it was 🔥🔥

The staff was helpful in helping us lookout for what we wanted in the menu and recommended the nice drinks, great service, thank you!
