A changed restaurent. And a first for me walking out at the point of ordering. Typical visit a few times a year never had anu issue before. I Visited Pacifica Cantonese in October 2019 and had a completely different experience I was told it's under new management so maybe this is the reason why. Issue; seen an offer on planet radio for 30 spend for 15. So why not get it was going to go anyway. We booked in advance and give the voucher code at the point of booking. When we arrived on the Saturday night I asked wife to just check if it could be used on a set meal. After reading she said it could not. The waitress seen the voucher took it away and came back and said that it could not be used on Saturday. We said this was not the case and then she agreed that we could use it. This was without even speaking to the manager. (So clearly just trying it on). We was then advised could order of the main al carte. So we carried on and picler the Pacifica platter starter for 2. We was then told we could not order this, the reason was that we was using a voucher. And these were set up by the previous owner.
So we then left as what should be a relaxing experience was turning into a ball ache due to Pacifica Cantonese. Spoke to the manager on the way out and offered 10% off if we come back an other night. But declined as there is no trust, and to be honest I feel that they created a situation where as the consumer I was stuck in a issue between owners that made me and my wife uncomfortable and treated like porpers.
I fear what was once the number one Chinese in Manchester may be going downhill.
Visited in September posted late to make sure was a fair assessment. Planet radio were true to there word after contacting them and removed voucher from sale and give a full refund and 30 voucher for different location. They clearly blamed the restaurant.
One month later still have a bad taste about the way that we...
Read moreWe have been coming as a family to Pacifica for 10 years+ however will be our last! We came on Sunday for the buffet which has gone up to £27 per head - which is worth it for the food, however the atmosphere was awful. The staff I think because they were busy were so rude, we were spoke at and due to the high level of noise was more of a shout! They were rushing us although we had waited patiently for 30 minutes in the lobby with 3 babies and 11 adults as the sitting before us had over run. Without apology or acknowledgement. What also surprised me was how many more bodies they managed to cram in the restaurant, none of us could hold a conversation. Some of our party have a small appetite and so wanted to order off the a la crate - told no after checking with management if the whole table wasn’t doing so, however our fussy 2 year old although free for the buffet menu would have only eaten rice so asked if we could order him a small portion of chips. That was strangely okay to be ordered and paid for off the a la cart menu as it’s been taken off the main one. For such a ‘high end’ priced buffet would have expected more. The toilets were disgusting, toilet paper strewn all over and no hand wash. The place is looking rather tired unfortunately and not worth the price. Such a shame as the food has always...
Read moreWe came here as a family of 6 for belated birthday tea for my mum, and our expectations were exceeded! I came here a few years ago and was blown away by the food, and finally got round to bringing the family along as well. Booked a table few days prior, text confirmation, and staff were very friendly and welcoming on arrival. We opted for the banquets rather than individual dishes, and we felt that there was plenty of food - so much so we were able to take some home. Staff were very attentive, always asking if we wanted more drinks and also cleaning the table inbetween courses which was appreciated. The food was divine! the starter plates consisted of ribs, seaweed, beef dumplings, prawn toast and spring rolls. This was served with small bowls of sweet chilli sauce and sweet and sour sauce, more was brought out when requested. Duck to follow, crispy and flavourful. We had an array of main dishes, the sweet and sour prawns were delicious, as was the spicy chicken. We felt it was incredible value for money, and there was enough food to feed a village (hence why we have had it for lunch today!). I can’t recommend this restaurant enough, a true gem in the heart of eccles. Thankyou for such a...
