I went to the Ridgeacre to meet up with friends. There were 11 of us all together. We were all from off the yew tree estate. Most of us were friends and went to (yew tree infant and junior school) so have known each other a long time. The other few were from off the same estate but went to the other school fir tree at the top end of the estate. But then we all went to Manor High School and were pals then on. We havnt seen each other for at least 45/46 yrs. One best pal came from the Isle of white another pal came from Devon. It was a BRILLIANT night. The Ridgeacre was quite full when we got there at 7 o 'clock in the evening. Two of my old pals had got a bigish round table near the bar. As more old pals turned up the staff did get us more chairs which was appreciated. The bar staff were lovely and friendly. The one young man came round to us and ask if we wanted a photo all together. Which was brilliant of him. We had a great evening. And we will do it again. The atmosphere in there was nice we could hear ourselves talk. We didnt have a meal. But what i saw of meals they look lovely. Since the girls who were all born in 1958/59 meet and put photos on facebook. I have had quite a few more old pals from high school requested me to be friends and have said they want to come to our nxt get together that i arranged. I would defiantly use the Ridgeacre again. But i think i would need to ask if they could save us a big area to get everyone sitting together . There were plenty car parking spaces available for those who drove to get there. (Those that drove Did only have coke or lemonade) but everyone else who had hubbies or partners or taxis pickin them up. Enjoyed bottles of wine. Gin etc. Will definitely go there again but will need a bigger table if more old school pals are coming so we can All sit together and more space for all the full and empty glasses. 😁🍷🍸🍹🍺😌😂

I tend to come here to enjoy the lovely beer garden in the summer. Popped in today at lunchtime with the weather hitting almost 40°C. Relaxed under a parasol with a cider, and then ordered food from the daytime menu, with two meals for £9.49. The staff here are very friendly and polite, like to the point that you notice how nice they are. Fantastic service. The food was great, I expected the quality to diminish with the price, but it really didn't. Definitely recommend.

Been here a few times and service has always been fantastic. This time we decided to come pretty last minute, we booked last night for a table of 15 for today and they got us in no problems, and service was absolutely fantastic yet again. Brilliant vegan and veggie options, great sized portions, reasonably priced and always so friendly and happy to help. Wonderful family pub, we’ll always come here for our family meals! ❤️

A group of 6 of us attended the Ridgacre tonight and we will not be returning. The issues started from the second we walked in the door.

The first issue was several members of staff walked past us before approaching us (we were waiting by the ‘please wait here to be seated sign’). We were then directed to another desk to wait to be seated. It then took approximately 5 minutes for anyone to come to this desk. We were then shown to a table. We sat down and ordered some drinks.

We had to wait a long time before our drinks arrived. We then ordered our food - every single item the waitress was overly pushy for us to upgrade for more food.

Our starters took over half an hour to arrive and when they did they were poor quality. The prawns had very little prawn in them and the menu stated they would be in a tempura batter - they were absolutely not. They were rock hard. On mentioning this to the waitress she did take these off our bill. The waitress herself even admitted she had tried these before and not enjoyed them.

We then had to wait another half an hour or so for our mains. 2 out of the 6 mains came stone cold - we complained about this and then we were asked if we wanted fresh food or this food reheated - we asked for fresh. The ‘new food’ came out very quickly (too quickly for fresh food to have been cooked) and still was not overly warm. We also believe this had been reheated not served fresh. Somehow the request for fresh food had got lost on the waitress’ journey to the kitchen from our table. The steak was not cooked well on these meals either. There had been poor quality cheese thrown on the top of some chicken and a singular piece of bacon thrown in the middle of the plate - this was the smothered platter. Some of the meals were nice and some were average.

Before everyone had finished eating, the waitress had started clearing the plates from the table from those who had finished - again a sign of poor service as this made the people who were still eating feel rushed as the bill was being sorted whilst still eating.

The waitress had also made a few comments about ‘the day I’ve had’ etc which I feel unprofessional as frankly how her day has gone is not relevant to the paying customer.

We did not leave a tip for obvious reasons. We were given the name of the waitress and the ‘chef’ which I will leave below - I’m surprised they were even willing to share this information after what an awful experience we had. We were surprised we were asked to leave a review.

We will not be returning to this establishment and I would recommend everyone avoids this venue.

Name of waitress: Aaliyah Name of ‘chef’ (someone who cannot successfully microwave...

8/8/14 Today ...Abysmal, second visit in less than a week. My daughter and I visited TT on Sunday evening 3/8/14, restaurant was reasonably quiet, we ordered sirloin steak rare-medium we received what can only be described as a piece of tough shoe leather, overcooked, weird colour almost as if it had been washed ??? we mentioned this to the manager, that we ordered was sirloin and this certainly not sirloin! We mentioned this to who we think was the manger, he said do you want to order something else? We were so disappointed, we had expressed a need to have a steak meal, he said it will be the same because it was from the same batch. I found his statement bizarre, we decided to give another go with the steak this time is was tender and cooked to perfection.

This evening 4 of us decided to go for another meal at TT when I say we will NEVER visit this place again its the absolute truth! My family which included 4 adults, the place was busy (no excuse), i'm loathe to call it a restaurant. We ordered 2 beer battered cod, one sausage and mash and one chicken and rib combo, after waiting at least 25 minutes we asked if there was a delay on the food, the manager/eress she said its just being plated up, it arrived what a disappointment.......the fish was very overcooked so much so we had to leave most of it, the chips and mushy peas were cold, as were my daughters, and my sons sausages. My daughters chicken was missing from her meal she had to ask for it, my sons meal was very disappointing, the mash was a bowl of sloppy wet potatoes and cabbage. We will NEVER visit this place again. TT lakeside cannot be described as a restaurant, just a place that serves dreadful food.

When we mentioned the problems to the waiter he said I am so sorry, I said its not your fault its clearly a management and chef problem.

I will be deterring my friends and family as well as people on my FB page from...
