I'll take you a walk though a visit to The Barge and Barrel.
Venue: So it's a rock venue, so you'd expect the usual paraphernalia, posters etc which is indeed what you get. It smells about like soap and other peoples cooking. The furniture is well beyond its sell by date, really needs replacing it's very very tatty and stained.
Punters: Nice enough bunch of folk they're generally friendly exept the old lady behind the bar who walked up to my sister who is gay and told her she didn't agree with her choices, not prompted.
Bathrooms: Well they don't smell, but weird there CCTV in the bathroom itself though.
Music: Rock music! Yippie! Gets a bit too loud when the live bands are on though, the speakers warning lights flicker due to the power load being to high. It does distort the bands music too making it hard to hear what they're singing.
Prices: It's a bit spicy on the price and doesn't have a card machine, so not ideal.
So to summarise, probably not...
Read moreI would give 0 stars if I could. First things first, I selected to pay by card, only for the doorbell to ring and have to find cash to pay. With COVID and me being vulnerable, we do not use cash if possible. Second, when my partner pulled the bag from the delivery bag the food bag ripped and food flew everywhere. Third, they forgot my drink. I had to call twice (apparently the manager wasn’t there the first time) to get this sent and it was 6 months out of date when received. Finally, and most importantly, the food was disgusting. The noodles are made from pasta -undercooked pasta at that. The kids burger comes absolutely drenched in Mayo (no mention of that on the order page). The keema naan was chewy and flavourless. The salt and pepper chicken was soggy. The rice had crunchy foreign bits in. The list goes on. Not one item was an acceptable quality. This is most definitely the first and last time we will be ordering from...
Read moreWhat can I say about the old bush well I came to visit son 3 years ago and went into the bush for a meal wow got a real black country welcome from staff who treated us as old friends. Especially a guy called Palmer what an amazing man so friendly he introduced us to the regulars and again treated us as family. Food was good and reasonably priced as where the drinks now every time we come up north we will not leave till we pop in and the reception we get is always the same. So if you want good food and drink a friendly atmosphere I suggest you give the old bush a try On Saturday night we went in and there was a live band which was excellent everyone had a really good night I recommend you go on a live band night just to see...
