Absolutely exceptional food. I visited Eight Peaks on Friday, and the starters and mains were phenomenal with all the food being tremendously tasty and flavoursome. The naan was also very unique as it was most certainly the best naan I have ever had due to texture, which was good old fashioned big naan, that was not too crispy and not too soft, fries went down a treat, as they were very succulent and most important not oily at all. Other pleasant aspects of the restaurant were the popadoms and drinks, as both were very fresh. Staff are extremely welcoming and kind. One downfall was the quantity of meat, as the curriers are mouthwatering, however you are left with quite a bit of sauce at the end of your meal, and if more meat was included in the curry, I would have dedicated the restaurant five-stars, but luckily the amount of sauce that you do get left over isn’t an outrageous amount, as some restaurants only give five pieces of lamb in your curry, if there is more meat in the curry during my next visit, as I will most definitely return, then Eight Peaks will certainly receive five stars from me in my next review. Also, as I believe the reviews do get read by the owner, which is another star quality of the restaurant, I would recommend putting up some posters in the car park to make customers aware that parking is available so long as they submit their registration upon arrival to...
Read moreUnfortunately the Bangla Cottage closed down a month or two ago and a new business called the Eight Peaks Dine has taken its place. I miss the BC but pleased that this new restaurant is an excellent replacement. Not much has changed inside apart from a very smart new floor covering. New staff and chefs of course and all appear to be very experienced. Stating the obvious but Nepalese / Indian cooking is quite different to your more common Bangladeshi. You will recognise nearly all the names on the menu however you can't assume the spicing will be the same as you are used to. Don't let this put you off as our dishes were great, although I have had better sheekh kebabs. Just tell them what you usually have and they will help you with the menu. No problems with the sides, all were as expected and the portions are generous. The Nepalese are renowned for their friendliness and service and these guys, especially the older gentleman are excellent. The only fault with the B C was that the service was often very slow, we were pleased that it wasn't on our Friday night visit. It's not the cheapest place around and you can not take your own alcohol but 'you gets what you pays for.' Well worth checking out. Free parking at the rear but you need to put your registration in...
Read moreWent here for a change and food was different to what we are used to but in a good way, not as overly stuffed as normal. Food was fresh, mint sauce and keema nan was beautiful. Food not as greasy as other establishments. Staff was pleasent, professional it's seems what ever the requirements they will listen and adjust for you. Meant to close at 1030 we was still finishing up after that and not once did they moan or try and kick or out which was very impressive. All 3 of us who went agreed we would return and we would recommend. Normally take photos of food eaten but was too busy enjoying the food. Didn't see my normal starter of stuffed pepper but I'm sure if we became regulars they may be able to sort something out as they seem accommodating like that. Would like to return when a bit busier to see if the standards remain throughout but from first impressions I would say to all give it a go for sure, 5 stars so far from myself and family, today there are plenty of restaurants to choose from but this one does stand above with all the merits mentioned and proves what other reviews are also saying...
