So reluctant to give a bad review but I sent the restaurant a private review about our less than satisfactory experience when they asked for feedback on our booking a while ago and received no response...
My partner and I have recently moved to the area and were really excited to try this restaurant. The food was excellent and the staff were great for the first 40 minutes or so of our experience.
We'd booked through the Amore website for 8.45pm and had finished our two courses before 9.30pm, at which time we were abruptly asked if we would like anything else and we said no. The bill and a card machine were brought over immediately anyway despite the fact that we still had more than half a bottle of wine left, leaving us feeling a bit rushed. We'd also noticed several members of staff leaving through the restaurant and loudly saying their goodbyes to their colleagues which made us very uncomfortable as it made us feel as though we had overstayed our welcome even though it'd only been about 45 minutes since we had sat down for dinner. We paid then anyway and left a reasonable tip. A few minutes later, the music was cut off which created a very uncomfortable and awkward atmosphere. We rushed to finish our drinks and as we were doing so the only member of staff left on our floor took the bins out in front of us. We awkwardly left just under an hour after we'd arrived.
My partner and I have both worked in several hospitality and customer service roles and totally understand that customers can often be a nightmare and overstay their welcome and that it's important that staff get away on time. However, I feel that the way that we were treated was totally unacceptable, especially as we really hadn't been there long, had booked in advance, and the website was offering bookings that night until 9.30pm.
This experience spoiled an evening that we had really been looking forward to and I would be reluctant to return to or recommend Amore purely due to how unwelcome we were made to feel after we'd paid and tipped which is a real shame as the food...

Read moreI ordered pizza and tiramisu. I expected something better than in local shop, but sourdough pizza from a local co-op tastes better. The tiramisu wasn't bad, but I had the impression that I was eating only a thick cream, not a piece of cake and thery gave me ice creams without asking me before. I assumed I will receive tiramisu only if I didn't mentioned I want ice cream too. Also I have to say about the prices. There is no prices for dessert in menu and when I received the bill the prices were different than in menu. I came with friends and they also had higher prices on the bill. Except that someone who decide to eat something here needs to know there is 10% service fee added to bill, because the waiter comes quite often and jokes. It's not my cup of tea as I wanted to eat something good and talk in peace with my friends, not with a stranger who mocks me for...
