Annie's Cafe & Takeaway — Restaurant in Scotland

I've seen the other reviews and believe there may have been a member of staff off when I visited, this might explain why I found it so different than other reviewers. It was a warm morning and so with the door and windows perhaps closed to avoid the road noise just a couple of metres away the place was very warm , stuffy and smokey besides being a rather miserable little building. Had to wait a long time to even order and again to get our food. The food was I am confident made to request, the cash and carry grade sausages were freshly deep fried ! and the bacon and eggs no doubt freshly prepared on a hot plate which seriously needed cleaned judging by all the black flakes of burnt other food on them. Beans were ok, toast was okay ( choice it seems of white or white ) , coffee was ok if rather weak. Might have had another cup had they brought it while we were waiting for food, but came with the food. 3rd member of staff arrived as we were leaving though she and the others clearly had no concern to ask if all was okay, or say goodbye or thanks It's I'd say not much more than a place for taxi drivers although they would lose a lot of money awaiting their meal on my evidence. I wish I had not gone in and I will not go back. Worst breakfast in a long time. There are many many other cafes in the town every one of which looked better although equally...

Fantastic homemade ice-cream. Lovely to sit out in the decking area, hidden from the street and feels very cozy and comfortable. Great customer service and lovely owners. A real treat on a day out. You can park out on the street or just around the corner at Matalan or Currys where there are always plenty of spaces to be had. The cafe sits right on the road so be very careful of pets and children as the road can be busy and some drivers are quite fast, despite the spread...

Mum and I stopped in here after heading back to east lothian for a long weekend away for my birthday.

I had a full breakfast and mum had an egg roll. Both were delicious. Freshly made and just all round tasty food and great environment.

I read that it's a few generations of family who have the business which I love. It's great supporting local businesses.

We will be back....
