Itās mainly Chinese food, not really Indian. (I prefer this tbh). Itās local, it is clean, decor is nice, every station has tongs and spoons etc and the staff are on point with clearing the tables of our used plates and getting us what we needed like drinks etc. (unless you donāt do bottomless and top up yourself) The food is fresh, it gets topped up and checked regularly. It is really quite nice, there is a lot of different choices of dishes, something for everyone. Thereās a salad bar, the egg is yummy. There is always at least two types of soup. Thereās the usual variety of curry, chow mein, chicken Maryland, honey sesame chicken, chilli honey chicken, Kung po pork, char Sui pork.. the crispy seaweed, the prawn toastā¦š¤¤ ooaft! Tbh too many dishes to mention..but, Iāll go on, they also have duck and pancakes, there is sushi, dim sum, dumplings. There is sausages and chicken nuggets and pizza and pasta etc there also. Theyāve started recently doing some chicken tikka masala and nan bread too. Loads of choice of mains, loads! Loads of different deserts, thereās lush whippy ice cream𤤠and a chocolate fountain too.š
āļøThe only criticism I have is the prawns in the salad bar are not all deveined and is a tad off putting.šāļø
There are different prices for different times of the week and lunch or dinner etc. Good value for money. Over all itās really nice and clean and the food was good too. My family and enjoy it. 4/5...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMost people come into buffet restaurants to reward themselves with food and get the most out of their money. I think this facility achieved that. The website clearly explained the difference in menu (i.e., lunch v.s. dinner) and hence, the difference in price. I think the salmon is well worth the price of choosing dinner over lunch. Let's talk about the food now. They offer both Western and Asian category, from appetizers to mains, and of course, desserts. I had high expectations with Asian category, as the name of the resto suggests. I think if one is offering dumplings and sushi, appropriate sauce and dipping bowls should be provided. It's completely understandable, though, that sushi quality is not the same standard as the authentic ones due to scarce raw ingredients. One of the highlights, in my experience, is the roast duck. And again, the provision of appropriate dipping sauce for this would be perfect!
Overall, I still think that this place is brilliant, especially the choice of location. You can enjoy a movie at the nearby Odeon while trying to digest all that food. They are (as far as I know) the only resto offerring buffet in Kilmarnock. They offer a wide variety of food that you can choose from. The ambience is homey, and the seats are just comfortable. The toilet facilities, I must emphasize, are clean and even air-conditioned. I think this is very important for a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt's ok but feels a little soulless, like a nicer eatery at an airport. We have visited a few times with decreasing frequency.
Food is nice, not exceptional but acceptable.
Sometimes when we go there is loud music playing, like today - a staff member said they'd turn it down but it never happened.
We asked to be sat somewhere quiet due to disabilities and the huffy staff member tried to stick us in a noisy alcove with several children. The staff member seemed visibly annoyed when I panicked at the sight of it - a confined space with younger children being noisy is not what I would call quiet. Fortunately another staff member intervened and we found a less crowded area. Though we were still blasted by loud music, which was a sensory nightmare. We ate and left with haste.
I would suggest better disability training for all staff. Disabled people are not an inconvenience and being deliberately difficult. And not all disabilities are visible, disability inclusivity is way more than just having wheelchair ramps. People's requests for simple accommodations, like what we asked for, can make all the difference between a pleasant meal and an ordeal that has repercussions that can last for weeks.
I won't be rushing back, for the money we spent we could go somewhere quieter and less impersonal with friendlier people...
