Awful Sunday service in the cafe. Customers who'd joined the queue after me had their drinks served before ours and the two staff looked to be in a constant state of confusion. We're regulars to the cafe but the cappuccinos were way below the usual standard on this occasion, like a watery instant coffee and lacking the chocolate sprinkles, which I had to request.

Amazing building in Kilmarnock with two museums inside, library, art gallery and a café. Good exhibitions about Robert Burns and Johnnie Walker, plus lots of historical artefacts. Beautiful and interesting. Free entry!

Excellent fiction and non-fiction libraries, museum and art galleries, and a very good resource centre for research of local history. Also doubles up as a polling station during elections

One of my favourite places since childhood yes I know I'm a nerd . But the recent addition of the coffee shop is amazing I love setting up my books n studying here in the 90s n while the atmosphere of the old reference library is different being able to set up laptop n coffee is definitely way of future . Coffee is one of best in town. Cakes are delicious only critism maybe add. Sandwiches and savoury snacks to menu .

Art gallery and Musium has constantly changing interesting exhibitions . I'm shocked no other reviews have mentioned the local hero that is Brian the Lion. Over 100 years old and a delight to meet . .

The building itself is a very beautiful old building if you have time take a moment. And admire the architecture. Both inside and out and be grateful for the town planners and council who have invested in this beautiful free resource for us all . Use your...

My wife and I took our grandkids to this lovely Building and I was so surprised they really loved it it's more like a museum but some of the exhibits are fantastic from an ancient dug out canoe to stunning pictures and stories from all over the world and a lot with something to do with Kilmarnock, the kids loved the lion exhibit and the dinosaurs and the very old school desks and toys kids had years ago, all of this is upstairs and downstairs the library had pens pencils for drawing and which is always a big hit with our lot, we stayed easily for 2 hours and enjoyed it...

Fond memories of "The Dick" when at primary school and Kilmarnock Academy in late 50's and early 60's. Both schools very nearby. Almost daily visits at lunchtime to both museum and library. I was especially privileged to wear a Chinese tunic which I remember on display to a primary school play because a classmates father was chief librarian at the time. Many years since I visited but it was a full size dinosaur during the 80s with my children. By then the displays were interactive. Would love to visit again to relive...
