Pretty poor experience overall, but let me say first Helen was very friendly and very kind, but the rest of my experience was not good.
The screen at the speaker does not work so it’s difficult to effortlessly check your order as items are being added. You’ve got to rely on the person taking the order to relay back to you each and every item - as opposed to saying “is the order on the screen correct”. This delays service, and given things were running incredibly slow, every few seconds count.
I waited a good 6-7 minutes between ordering and getting to the second window. I then waited a couple of minutes more for the girl to take my payment. I paid by card but the rod used to extend the card terminal out the window does make you question the standard, it was taped-up and looked grotty.
Drinks were being made and lined up at the window for orders, but no food seemed to be forthcoming.
Helen was very kind and offered my dog some water as we waited in the car, recognising it was a hot day and we were being kept waiting, this was very kind and I am grateful.
After another 5+ minutes passed since I paid and my food did eventually arrive. I ordered the new peppercorn Angus steak burger and Doritos fries. When I ordered, although I wasn’t asked about allergies or intolerances, I did request no onions due to an intolerance. This was confirmed back to me at the speaker. When my food arrived, I quickly checked the receipt attached and did indeed say no onions. A quick check of the burger wrapper and the onion graphic was scored out. At this point I was happy all was as ordered and correct.
I left the restaurant and headed home. When I got there, I checked the burger before leaving the car and I had a mountain of onions included - this is really not good. Sadly the onions being present demonstrates that despite several checkpoints, the food safety management system employed by this restaurants still fails to prevent serious and potentially life-threatening incidents from happening. Food safety must be paramount, and although on this occasion the request was due an intolerance and therefore not deadly, it could have so easily been an allergen request not met.
I very rarely visit Burger King, maybe once or twice a year, a usually in Europe, but this local restaurant doesn’t ever hit the mark. Something is lacking in respect to the oversight of the operations.
I would urge management to use this review as a stop-point and to immediately deal with the training issues identified before someone is made seriously ill. The person on the grill, “P” according to my wrapper, needs to be spoken to and made aware of the dangers of this type of carelessness.
It cost over £16 for a burger that couldn’t be eaten, a fairly small poke-of-fries, an ice filled draught drink, and some really overcooked, rock-solid and fairly inedible Doritos fries - these are absolutely overpriced and not worth the near £1 per frie cost, extortion.
For less cost, I know I could have ordered a larger meal at the neighbouring Golden Arches, received it quicker, correct in make-up, and with more items included.
Thanks again to Helen, but overall the restaurant needs to up its game massively. You are only as good as your...
Read moreWe don't eat much junk food, but Burger King was one place we'd go to every now and again. I was disappointed with our last couple of visits, we visited the Coatbridge one about a month ago, and it was really busy with people waiting for their orders, one guy had been waiting a while to place his order at the counter, we left as there were also people who had ordered their food using the app, but had been waiting a while. Yesterday, we popped into the facility in Stirling, I went to the counter to order but was instructed to use the screen to order, I ordered a meal for me and my wife but only one meal registered in my order, I attempted to order the other meal a number of times but it did not get added to my order, with no message coming up on yhe screen to advise me thst yhe meal was not avsilable, so ended up ordering a meal I didn't really want. Also I input a code from the phone app to get my loyalty points, but the code was not accepted. I beleive that this way of ordering via the display is supposed to make it quicker for you to order as well as cutting down on the number of staff working in these joints, but my experience today was not a pleasant one, as it took me nearly 10 minutes to complete an order for 2 meals, and at the end of it I didn't get any loyalty points, so I'm very disappointed with my recent visits to...
Read moreSubject: Formal Complaint Regarding Employee Conduct
Dear Burger King Management
I am writing to bring to your attention a deeply concerning incident that occurred today at your establishment. While visiting the Burger King located at [location] at approximately 7:30pm, 23 January 2024 I witnessed an employee engaging in highly inappropriate behavior. He even said never come back, I also has requested CCTV footage and I will take this thing forward as complaint to burger king
The employee in question, whom I did not recognize by name but can provide a physical description (bald, medium build), was working at the front of the house. During my time at the restaurant, I observed him throwing food and making racist remarks directed at the food delivery drivers.
Such behavior is not only unprofessional but also creates a hostile environment for both customers and staff. I believe it is essential for Burger King to address this matter promptly and take appropriate action to ensure that such incidents do not reoccur.
I trust that you will conduct a thorough investigation into this issue and take the necessary steps to rectify the situation. Your commitment to maintaining a positive and inclusive environment for both customers and employees is crucial in upholding the reputation of...
