This is my second visit here and must say it will be my last. First occasion ordered macaroni with didn't taste quite right. Only at a small amount but thought it was just my taste buds and didn't feel the need to make a complaint. Second occasion we say for 35 minutes before I had to go to the counter and ask someone to take our order. After a further 10 minutes someone finally arrived. It then took a further half hour to get our food which to be fair was tasty enough. Young blonde girl serving needs training desperately. She just spends more time going round in circles than actually doing much. Sorry cafe 91. Food was OK staff...
Read moreAn all-day breakfast menu always suggests a place worth eating - and the large, full plate bore the idea out. Everything you can think of for breakfast, including haggis and black pudding: with two well-cooked tomatoes, rather than the mean half that most cafes serve.
Delicious, and all I needed for the rest of the day (this was a late lunch after a walk).
Friendly and down-to-earth service, too. I wish that it was closer to home than the 250-plus miles that it actually is: but I know where I'm heading next time I'm in the area.

Read moreI've always loved this place, good quality food, friendly staff and a vibrant atmosphere. But... recently prices have gone up, and portion sizes have become smaller. I no longer feel that I'm getting value for money, the food didn't feel like it was worth the menu price. This is the only cafe I have ever visited that charges extra for toast and tea with a breakfast. The staff were less friendly and although I don't visit often, it was clear that its popularity with the locals has gone down because it wasn't as busy as usual.
