So ate at the cafe bluebell this morning for the first time as just moved here. (will aim to get round to everyones business over the coming months) and happy to say it exceeded my expectations. Couldn't fault a thing.
The place was spotless and welcoming. service was 10 out of 10. Was told the soup of the day straight away without asking. Given the right amount of time to look at the menu before ordering drinks and food the way it should be. Being previously in hospitality myself little things like that are important. So yh the table service I experienced was fantastic.
Coffee was piping hot unlike some places where it comes warm and can down it straight away. Milkshake was on par. Not a fan of posh pieces or cream in it so for me this was perfecto.
The food was absolutely amazing. Been to many cafes across the UK over the years but this place really hits the nail on the head. Gots to be the best chips I've had in a long time. Can taste the quality in them. Bacon cooked to perfection as with the egg. Don't do black pudding so was happily swapped out for an extra sausage going the extra mile for customer satisfaction. Awesome Toast selection is just unheard of. The ham and cheese toastie was absolutely loaded. Salad was so fresh. And everything was piping hot. Even the plates. Don't think I've ever eaten out and been served food so hot before. This place really took me back like wow. Hope everyone who works there reads this and feels some goodness and positivity within themselves that you have and are doing a good job and that your service is highly valued. Very friendly bunch too.
The only negative thing about the experience which really annoyed me is the fact I coudlnt eat it all 😂. Too much whiskey last night killed my hunger too...
Read moreAlways a warm welcome. Food is fresh and fabulous. Nothing is too much bother. Went with 4 grandchildren who each requested a variation of items from menu and each order was greeted with a smile and delivered exactly as requested. Baking is awesome.
Back again. May 2021 Never disappointed. Food portions are generous and always fresh. All the cakes are delicious. Michelle the proprietor along with all her staff go out of their way to welcome you. I notice that someone has commented and based their low review on the scones, which is a shame as it only one thing on offer. I do agree the scones are not the best I've ever tasted but I can also reassure everyone that the other food on offer makes it well worth the visit.
Back again October 2021. Been a few times over the last 2 weeks. Fresh simple food prepared well. Always a friendly welcome. For everyone. The owner and her staff always strive to accommodate people who come in. We were delighted to see to young school girls being spoken to in the same welcoming and friendly way. Everyone's custom is important. Makes such a...
Read moreUpdated: we ate there three days in a row. Loved it! We came here after a long drive and after a whisky tasting on an empty stomach. We were given a great table close to the window facing the harbour. They served us quickly and the food followed suit. We had the soup of the day (which was ok), we had the black pudding roll (which my husband was pleasantly surprised by), we had fries, we had baked potato with cheese, I also ordered fried egg and potato scone. Oh and my husband also ordered the day’s special toastie which was Brie and Cranberry (too much cranberry jam but cut thru the creaminess of the mushroom soup. As I was really craving potato - I was super happy to have it three ways. Service was prompt, the place was full. People were nice, the place was clean. Yeah happy! Did not take photos of the food as...
