It's years since I was in café Torino - I used to call it the smokers café. I popped in this morning shy off half ten & I had a reasonably priced £5 breakfast, which melted in my mouth 😋 NO tough Lorne sausage & NO frizzled up egg 🥚 👍 😁 The main problem wasn't with the food - it was that it was served up on a 'stone cold plate 🍽️ & i don't think that's the right thing to do 'cos the heat from the hot 🔥 food dissipates to the cold plate. The next time that I venture in I will ask if my plate can be heated up a bit & hopefully the tattie 🥔 scone isn't all greasy, that one can ring it out, as has happened to me b4, but very rarely. So far, the staff appear very friendly, especially the very tall slim waitress with the 2 long 🐖 tails - if that's what their still called. She even asked me if I wanted my capochino b4 my meal [or words to that effect] 👍 very good 😊 Back in again Tue 5/3/24 at around halve nine, to try out their FULL breakfast this time & just to make sure, I asked for it to be put onto a hot plate 🍽️ & it came on a warm plate & not on a cold plate which was fine, & as u can all see my breakfast looked really nice. No frizzled up egg🥚or a soggy, greasy tattie scone & as usual the square lorn sausage wasn't tough at all and the rest was all cooked spot on BUT this is the bit I don't get. I know if you want to add an extra item to the breakfast it's £1 SO instead of having to pay £1 extra i asked if i could change one of the 2 square sausage for one link sausage & i was told it would cost me a £1 extra, & all through my breakfast i couldn't figure that one out, when it was just a straight swop. I've never heard the likes of it 😱 But it won't put me off from going back in again BUT I was told that if their that busy - they may not have time to heat up your plate 🍽️ & if you like your T strong bring your own T bag. Went back in again on 1/2/2025 The 1st thing that hit was how nice & warm it was in there. I ordered their steak pie with mashed tatties & veg & it was served up - the way it should be on a warm plate 🍽️ It ALL tasted very good & I was surprised that the wee jug of gravy was nice & thick 👍 & the pastry was nice & flakey & not at all tough & neither was the meat in the stake pie except for a couple of wee firm, dry bits - despite that it was all ok & nothing was left on the plate except my knife & fork 🍴 😂 My latte in the tall class, which looks presentable was quite good & most importantly it was nice & hot 🔥 & didn't require me to return it to get her up, & of course the prices on the menus r very reasonable SO in you go for a heat & enjoy your food.

I’ve been a fan of Café Torino for as long as I can remember, so much so that I said to Sandra I’d have to update my review! So here I am. I’ve never had an order I would consider to be “unacceptable”, not in the over 10 years I’ve attended this cafe. Cafe Torino is unbelievably good value for money. And well behaved puppy dogs are welcome - it’s a win win!!

Reasonable priced and handy location. Has usual basics in a coffee shop with toilet and free wifi. Nearby free parking and outdoor seating. Some home baking which is quite nice and quality isn't too bad for rest of food. Excepts cards and contactless now which is good. Also has a nice outside seating area which is partly under cover and lets you see plenty of the world go by. Service is very friendly and easy going there happy to have children with usual high chair available. Prices for a sit down are one of the best in the town so place can be quite busy at peak times but the refreshed decor gives a nice ambience and food has always...
