New Ship Inn — Restaurant in Scotland

I went into the Inn at 21:00. There were two elderly men sitting in opposite corners of the inn, and one watress who had no interest in conversation.

I attempted repeatedly to engage either of the gentlemen, or the barmaid, in conversation, to no avail.

I sat in silence and finished my drink, I paid overmuch for the drink and revieced nothing worthwhile in return.
