If you have small children please do not go here. I visited this cafe earlier today with my 5 year old son with additional needs. We sat in and ordered an ice cream (Ā£5 charged to sit in because me & my friend ordered separately but same table) my son happily sat down and ate his cone and was singing about salt and pepper and holding the containers when the middle aged waitress decided to intervene and scold my son to put them down they are not a toy. At first I laughed as I thought she was kidding on but she kept going on about how bad this was and the containers must now be moved to the end of the table. Her attitude was appalling and not needed as he was not causing any trouble and only singing a song. He was not spilling anything as he is actually a clean freak with autism. She needs retrained immediately as this triggered my son for being given into trouble in a public space and we had to leave as he was about to take a meltdown. This ruined our lovely Saturday day out after a soft play session across the road at planet play. I will not be visiting this establishment again as this one woman hates her job so much she projects onto her...
Read moreI have been going to the centre cafe since I was a kid however recently I think it has seriously went down hill. I went in for a bite to eat with my Mrs and sister today, we got a breakfast, a chicken burger and chips and a toastie and chips with 3 cans of juice. The bill was almost £30, the food was terrible (all the breakfast stuff is deep fried) and the service was even worse. By the time my food came the 2 girls were almost done. When I went to pay the bill I got a £2.90 tub of ice cream and it came to just under £30. After paying the bill the woman behind the counter asked if I was planning on eating my ice cream inside and asked me to leave as it was in a take away tub. The cafe is a shadow of its former self, I will not be back. Over...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEverything you could hope to get out of a cafe. I want with my grandfather and both of us ordered the full Scottish breakfast, absolutely fantastic, the black pudding on par with Stornoway black pudding, the egg was cooked perfectly, the two tattie scones where among the most light and airy I have ever tasted and the lorne sausage was phenomenal. The tea was amazing and so was the latte. The empire biscuit and the shortcake where also amazing. Havenāt tried the ice cream but will come back for more. The atmosphere was also amazing, great social hub and not an unhappy customer in sight, laughing from all directions and the staff where nothing but nice. 10/10 This is...
