Coffee Lounge — Restaurant in Scotland

This would be a great place if it wasn’t for the staff…it’s really shocking. The waitresses were sitting at one of the tables chatting, the place was dead and it took them so long to bring us menus, then it took even longer for them to take our order. The whole time we’re watching them chatting, they had seemed to have forgotten us because It took forever to get our food and drink and only go a half assed apology. We had order some beverages that didn’t arrive and we don’t even know if we had been charged for because when we asked for the receipt it just told us the total cost, none of the break down of what we were paying…really shady. Over all...

Popped in for a very quick coffee and cake. The lady serving me explained what they had and offered me a poppyseed and almond muffin which I immediately said yes to. She then explained a different way to eat it, she toasted it and brought it to me with jam and butter. At the time I was breastfeeding my baby, and she saw I was trying to butter the muffin with one hand. 2 waitresses, not very busy but if I wanted a second cup of coffee I had to go to the counter to order...then why have waitresses? Sat for well over 30 minutes with an empty cup in front me. I was in Tranent for a meeting, needed some where to work before hand. This is really the only coffee shop in Tranent. If they'd ask if I needed anything they probably would have got at least 2 more coffees out of me as I had work to do. Next time I'm going to Tranent I'll stop at Starbucks before I leave Edinburgh.
