Cornkist — Restaurant in Scotland

Been there twice in the last fortnight. Ill after both occasions. Pointed out that I am pork intolerant. Called them after last occasion just to advise them, as the reaction could have been drastic for someone else. The person on the phone stated that they only had a pulled pork dish on their menu and that this was prepared separately from other dishes. I advised them that a good number of their options (chicken Maryland/burgers etc.) all contained bacon. Seemed confused that bacon was pork. Just met with defensive negativity and the suggestion that I might be intolerant to chicken!!! Wife's chicken was undercooked. Sister-in-law asked not to have anything with flour or coleslaw. Though the food was tasty and good, my order was not quite what I had expected or hoped for - I had ordered Crispy Chicken with noodles; it was not in the least bit crispy no doubt due to the cooking method. The food is not particularly cheap so I had expected it to be as described. Also, the staff were a bit indifferent and although one member of staff was pleasant and polite when she served us, service was slow and we were not checked up on at all. I had to go over tothe bar and ask for the bill. My husband was ignored when he first came in, which has happened before when we have come, thus the 3 star rating - going out to eat is about a whole experience where setting, service and food...

We had heard a lot of good things about this restaurant so we booked for dinner but was so disappointed with our food when it arrived. I had the fish and chips which was served with kids skinny chips, if I wanted them I would have went to McDonald's and they were not properly cooked and only warm, my partner had the Goulash and rice, he said the Goulash was delicious but could have been hotter, the rice was so dry he had to covet it with the sauce from his Goulash to moisten it and this to was only warm.
