Many of the reviews here and photos refer to the Costa branch in Riverway Retail Park, not the kiosk one inside the Rivergate Mall. Do not be confused. This one overlooks the river and is best avoided. It's really dirty, the tables and floor are always sticky and there are elderly dust bunnies living in top of the metal racks above the food service area. There is a full selection of the normal Costa menu but I would recommend only using this one as a take away. To sit in and relax go to the one outside of the main mall, behind McDonald's and directly between Asda and Tesco.

Now I’m a general fan of Costa when it comes to Stevenston or Largs, but a visit here was uncomfortable. I stood in the queue waiting to be served and watched the assistant berate a customer - she tore him to shreds because he dared to ask why his coffee had gone beyond the specified time. Then the assistant turned to a favourite customer standing beside me, and fawned all over him. It was appalling. Not going back to this branch.

Had a mango and passion fruit cooler with a slice of carrot and walnut cake. All amazing! Staff are friendly. My only issue is the store seems a bit cramped for the huge amount of customers they receive.

Very unpleasant visit to what normally is a lovely experience at many costa's that I have been to. We sat down and was told to scan in before sitting down which was OK we got up scanned in and as we had someone disabled with us she went to sit down again, we were told to order our food first and prove we had scanned in, my husband found his I found mine after a while but two could find their's, the disabled lady wasn't allowed to sit down even though they could see she was struggling, we left at this point to a coffee shop a little further on where we had great service, greggs over the other side from costa was packed and we only just got into the other one both so busy but your costa had only two people sitting down and I must say I am not surprised if your staff talk to customers like he did to us, the only downside to our...

Staff were pleasant enough and cakes were delicious as usual but (and I hate a but) as I drink tea, (I detest coffee. Love the smell hate the taste.) My cup looked as if it were dirty as it was old and worn. So I asked to change my cup. The replacement cup wasnt much better so I asked for a takeaway cup. The staff obliged but probably thought I was a right royal pain in the posterior! I do apologise but call me paranoid, you'd think in this current climate where people are so worried about cleanliness the cups would be replenished with new stock. So in conclusion one star deducted for old crockery stock and the other for just one toilet in the cafe! (Another bug bear but I'm not going into it now! Oh and the toilet was spotless ...so thats...

I go to the Irvine RP Costa regularly and the coffee and choice of food is reasonably priced and the coffee always tastes great. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to get to know you and your likes and dislikes. The staff have a good system in place to cope with the current pandemic requirements and I never find my self standing in line for very long. The track and trace process is simple and well advertised within the shop, social distancing is maintained and the tables are cleared and sanitized quickly and efficiently. This is my ‘go to’ coffee shop in Irvine and I would...
