Freckleton — Restaurant in Scotland

Been a regular to freckletons for years. My visit today will change that. The waitress are always spot on very attentive and look after you. My mum had the steak baguette, and I had fish in chips can't go wrong. With fish and chip or so I thought. Was a small hair on my fish. What put me off, as it would many people. I said to the waitress who apolagised and said shed get the manager. Every waitress came to the table. The manager/owner came and straight away said it may be yours these things happen.. I agreed these things happend and said mine is curly as I have a huge curly beard... It was offered to be replaced and I refused as I lost appetite, Even when paying it was Took of the bill although the manager was admit, that it happens at home. But were in a cafe/restraunt. The food was just okay, the links sausages were definitely underdone and were look warm when on my plate, slight tinge of pink still in the middle, potato bread tasted like onions, other than that everything was just okay, coffee was probably the best coffee iv had in a long time 💯 one thing is that when we walked in their wasn't a single staff member that greeted us with a smile on their face, when asked how the food was and I gave an honest answer about it the eyes got drawn off me by the server at the till and she just said okay, not an apology or anything to keep us coming back, it was my first time in Freckletons and I am a chef by trade aswell, this was sub standard and the waitresses need to smile more and make the customers feel more welcome 💯 my first visit to freckletons therefore...

Couldn’t eat the lentil soup as it was extremely salty. When I said I wouldn’t pay for it - the owner leaned forward and rudely said “don’t come up here and tell me you’re not paying” he did not ask WHY so I told him it was inedible due to being over salted. He leant forward and repeated his rude and very intimidating comment. Also said they don’t salt their soup and that lentils are salty anyway😳!! I’ve made lentil soup for over 50 years and have yet to come across “salty lentils”. He then proceeded to charge us for 1 plate of soup. As if he was doing us a favour.
