I come here regularly. Good place to get your coffees, iced frappes etc, breakfast, lunch, or snack. Obviously enough - it's a Costa! Good range of hot and cold food. Breakfast and lunchtime deals are available. Relaxed atmosphere, sometimes busier around lunchtime. Pleasant staff. Sits on its own 250 yards from a Sainsbury and a B and Q, but away from other retail shops. Not so many shoppers or children come in. Laptop users are often here. Can park up to three hours in the carpark, no pressure in Costa to leave or move you on. Plenty tables inside (15) and about 10, some covered, outside. Dog friendly at outside tables. CARPARK: Like some others, I did get a parking fine here at the 25 space car park. The signs are there, however, around the car park and also inside Costa. It's not operated by Costa, it's a parking company. You get 90 mins free of charge, extended to three hours if you log in your vehicle registration number on the screen at the till, or scan the bar code at the table. I was told by the staff that the limits were introduced to stop the general public using it as an all-day free carpark, blocking spaces for Costas customers. I recommend this...
Read moreI remember one of the first costa coffee bars at Central Station in Glasgow, (Perhaps the first ),where you would meet yer mates under the clock at central station and have a coffee. At that time it was quite the thing for the fashionista barista coffeez aficionados. The Costa explosion Definitely rivals Starbucks and having sampled their toasted croissants and Flat white, I felt a comparison would be interesting. The service was excellent, very quick and very polite. Obviously they have been well trained ..perhaps certain American burger joints could learn from this process. I had toasted roll with sausages. My guess yesterday’s rolls get toasted. The sausage links were decent and the coffee ( flat white)was also decent.I think a blend of arabica and robusta. Costa has a smoother taste than Starbucks and the burnt-bean theory, which is more palatable although I prefer the Starbucks coffee. However Costa was roughly £1.50 cheaper than Starbucks. Over £7 for a coffee and a rechauffe bun is pricey. With so many artisan coffee places in Glasgow yer dot dash would be better spent there unless...
Read moreWe use this branch every morning to start our day - there’s a Starbucks round the corner and we drive past it to come here. Same order every day - cappuccino no chocolate. Never usually a problem. On the odd occasion there is chocolate so we ask for it to be replaced - no fuss no muss! This morning the conversation between the girls was obviously too enticing so the coffee was made with chocolate easily seen in the lid. When I handed it back the barista was obviously not happy that her reiterating of the night before events had been interrupted (she had handed it to the window girl saying “cappuccino no chocolate”) she said very loudly there is no chocolate. When I pointed out the lid she was not happy. The coffee was made again and we were in our way. It may be a reminder that there is a big open window where you operate and although no verbal abuse was given your face needs no subtitles. Don’t think we were wrong and didn’t require that behaviour first thing in the morning. Starbucks will be becoming our...
