Hearty, no-frills, delicious Italian food that is freshly prepared. My Spanish father-in-law had the grilled salmon with rucola salad and said his salmon was cooked to perfection. Likewise, I really enjoyed my penne pasta with spicy Italian sausage in a sweet/spicy homemade Napoli tomato sauce with onions and crunch peppers. The sauce was so good that I was literally mopping any remnants off my plate with my fork. Pizzas were light with golden crusts and plentiful amounts of cheese and toppings. Limoncello was served ice cold/semi frozen just as it should be. Portion size was generous, prices were fair, and service was warm and excellent. They were happy to take special requests and personalise dishes to individual tastes.

Very friendly staff in a well laid out and very clean Italian restaurant in the lovely Scottish town of Balloch. The food and wine selection was extensive, and the staff easily accommodated the gluten intolerance dietary requirements of one in our party. There was a genuinely friendly atmosphere, and the entire restaurant joined in singing happy birthday with a family that had come there for their son's 8th birthday. I had the Arrabbiata (Chillies, onions & Napoli sauce with spaghetti noodles) and added chicken, jalapenos and king prawns. This dish comes with a warning of being hot and I would say many would find it spicy. It was just right, paired with a glass of red.

Cucina in Balloch is a cozy Italian restaurant with a welcoming atmosphere, though the food left us wanting a bit more. We ordered the Cucina classic pizza, chips, and Aglio Olio pasta. While everything was prepared well and tasted fresh, the flavors felt somewhat flat and lacked the punch you’d expect from authentic Italian cooking. The biggest disappointment was the absence of Neapolitan pizza on the menu, which I had been looking forward to. Service was polite and attentive, and the portions were fair, but overall the dining experience was more average than memorable. A decent stop, but not exceptional.

Honestly if I could leave 0 stars I would. Me and my boyfriend decided to go here for lunch for the first time as we saw it’s a4.5 star rated on google, it ended up being a big regret. Upon arrival everything seemed fine, we sat outside, got our lunch menu’s and decided we are going to order a three course each. So we opted out for bruschetta as the starter, caesar salad as main and chocolate cake as the dessert. The starter had more of the tomato and onions than the amount of bread we were provided with. Our experience got worse when we received our Caesar salads. I discovered that there was a black hair in my salad which completely put me off eating. One of the waitresses said the chefs are bald so she doesn’t know how this could happen, bear in mind a few of the waitresses had dark hair and barely had it up. We then complained and were told we are getting a new salad made, fine. The staff seemed fine dealing with this however I ended up getting the salad over half an hour later. Whilst eating, we saw one of the chefs go out for a smoke and he had hair obviously not as long as I had found in my salad but why lie? When we both finished our food, we made it clear and put our plates on the side of the table as we were hoping one of the waitresses would come over to take the plates. The waitresses started putting away all the tables and chairs outside, and as they got to the tables and chairs closer to us they didn’t even acknowledge us, leaving us feeling like ghosts. They never let us know that we have to come inside or anything but instead we overheard one of the waitresses saying to two customers that the seating area is closed but they left us sitting there and unattended? We sat and waited half an hour and decided to ask for a refund for the desserts as this was unacceptable, seemed appalling despite the restaurant having already made the customer put off food from having a hair in it. They gave us the refund of £5 for the desserts, bare in mind the incident that happened and us having paid £40 for the two three courses with barely any service, no compensation or any sort of compliment to make up for it. Honestly, when customer has a complaint over anything, you should do everything in your hands to make their experience better. We felt disappointed and angry, I would never recommend this to anyone nor...

I just had a very upsetting experience with this restaurant. My 4yo son and I tried to get a table in the restaurant at 18:45, but staff said they were fully booked and didn’t have a place for us. There were just a couple of people, but ok, it was Saturday after all. Then as a truly friendly comment I congratulated them for being a successful business… but staff didn’t smile or anything and I thought something was off. We went to another restaurant, but the whole thing stayed in my mind. So at 20:20 we passed by this restaurant again, and only half of the tables were occupied. So for some reason, they just didn’t want us in. Was it because we were in sport clothes and hiking boots? (But this is a low key restaurant in a place for outdoor activities!) Was it because I was a woman alone with a child? (But he was well behaved, if not I’d more than agree with not being let in!) Was it because I’m a foreigner??? Or my bad hair day? I’ll never know, but can’t help thinking a business with such bad energy doesn’t deserve the good reviews it has. What a sad memory from this otherwise...

We were in Balloch for a week and got takeaway from here the last day of our visit. All I can say is Wow…Massive portions, delicious food, very reasonable prices! The Caesar salad was perfectly dressed with homemade croutons. My mum-in-law opted to add chicken and there was so much, she couldn't finish it! I had the penne arrabbiata with added cream and chicken. It was the most delicious pasta I have had in years. Perfect balance of spiciness, creaminess, and garlic. I had not eaten all day and had been out and about so was very hungry, but I also could not finish all of my food. The leftovers were just as good later though! The pizzas were great too with quality toppings. Please, do not hesitate to get a takeaway from here or even eat in. You will...
