First Visit to Raffles – Impressive Start!

Positives: The venue looks absolutely fantastic – very stylish and welcoming. We were personally greeted by the owners, which instantly made us feel at home. All of the staff looked smart, and I really loved the uniforms – a nice touch that added to the overall experience. The food was fantastic – everything we ordered was spot on. I really hope they can keep hold of the kitchen team because they’re clearly doing a great job. The food and drink menus also had a great selection.

A special mention to the young girl who was only 15 – she was amazing! So confident and professional beyond her years. There was also a 17-year-old boy who gave very good service – with a bit more training, he’ll be excellent.

Overall: It was a great first visit, and we’ll definitely be back. A few teething issues, but nothing that can’t be ironed out. Well done, Raffles – keep up...

We ordered our late lunch/dinner from here about an hour ago. I have to say we were disappointed. We ordered the cajun pasta and peppercorn chicken breast. The cajun pasta was okay but very oily, the chicken breast was inedible. First of all - it hardly looked like a full chicken breast, it was three smallish chunks of chicken. I tried to cut into it and it wouldn’t cut. I had to go get a steak knife and still use high pressure just to cut the pieces in half - tried one bite and couldn’t continue. It was dry and chewy and not worth eating. All three sections were like this, disappointing to say the least - especially when we paid 14 pound alone for the chicken. Unsure if the quality is better when eating in person but definitely would not recommend...

Spur of the moment decision to come into the Lounge on Mother’s Day at approx 4pm. Didn’t really expect to get a table as we hadn’t booked but the waitress was happy to accommodate us and made us feel welcome from the get go. We were seated in a booth and the young waiter who brought our drinks over took our order kindly brought crayons and paper for the wee man without us asking for it. It was obviously quite busy and a singer was playing. Good relaxed family vibe. I had the steak pie and my mum had the chicken and leek pie. Exceeded our expectations. The kids menu was varied enough. He had pasta which he ate and licked the plate. We both had the hot chocolate fudge cake and the weeman had ice cream. All round very pleased and will...
