It's Halloween night. Kitchen unexpectedly shut at the soft play we had just escaped from, so we popped in here with our toddler for a quick bite and a wee sit-down. A couple of burgers, chips, nothing dramatic. Asked politely if we could eat in. The young lass at the counter stiffened up like someone had unplugged her, face going paler than the tiny ghosts that had been haunting our doorstep earlier. She said absolutely nothing to us, not even a 'Hold on, I'll check.' Then sshe drifted toward her manager like a Victorian child spirit who has already seen too much misery in this life and the next.
Her reply was bitter, sharp, delivered in a tone colder than a January morning. "Naw. No sittin' in. Am too busy fae that." She spat.
No smile. No “sorry folks.” No basic courtesy. Just pure frost.
I have worked in high-volume spots in NYC on New Year’s Eve with half the staff and twice the chaos, and even there I always managed something along the lines of, “We’re slammed just now, so eat-ins closed, really sorry."
It's not the answer, it's the attitude. A simple bit of human warmth would have gone a long way. Instead, it felt like we had wandered in covered in bin juice rather than as friendly locals.
We left feeling unwelcome and frankly baffled. Glasgow is famous for it's hospitality and this place clearly did not get the memo. I really don't normally write negative reviews - check out my past several years history. But this is warranted.
Won't be back, not even on...
Read moreThis place is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!!!! only put 1 star as I can't put none! Spent £30 on food and it was a soggy wet disgusting mess. The rolls for the roll and chips are too soft so turn into a wet mess 🤮. The pizza crunch was soggy, wet and spongy and you wouldn't have fed it to the birds, so I decided to call and complain and ask them to replace the pizza crunch. Once I arrived at the shop the little girl at the front was so so so cheeky she lied and said I swore at the little girl (her words) on the phone which I did not, she barked at me she would replace it, but it was the salt and vinegar that was making it soggy so she was not putting any on the next one whether I liked it or not! She then continued to talk about me to the older blonde lady that was cooking the food, laughing and being so unprofessional and rude. When ready she slammed the pizza on the counter and said there's your pizza! I can't believe this little girl thinks it's OK to speak to a customer the way she did with such attitude, I also couldn't believe that the lady in charge cooking the food would allow this little girl to accuse a customer of lying, and speak to me the way she did because I have complained about their food. I will never return to this disgusting place, the food is abysmal and the staff even worse do everyone a favour...
Read moreOrdered dinner at 6.54pm. Waited an hour and a half, still no food, phoned and told it was on its way. It arrived at 9.05 and the pizza and mozzarella dippers were completely burnt and cold and the chips were also cold. Phoned back to get another pizza and another portion of chips as by the time another pizza arrived the chips would have been inedible. Another half an hour and only a pizza appeared, gave pizza and chips back to the delivery driver. Phoned the shop back again now at 9.30 and said about the missing portion of chips for the very rude woman on the other side of the phone to start arguing with me and tell me that I wasn’t getting the chips that I’d asked for in the first place as all delivery drivers were finished. So 9.30pm at night being told I’m not getting my dinner, due to their error, that I’d phoned at 6.54pm. She then started imitating me in the background obviously not aware I was able to hear her. Eventually they asked the very kind delivery driver who’d picked up my dinner and she said she’d bring it back out to me. Big thank you to her, however customer service elsewhere needs some serious improving. Absolute joke of a place, won’t...
