This was our first and last visit to Gigi’s. We have heard many great things about this restaurant from our friends and family prior to our visit, so as a result we have chosen to visit Gigi’s for a very special occasion - Valentine’s Day celebration, expecting that there most certainly won’t be any disappointments. We couldn’t be more wrong. If you have seen photos of Gigi’s online you probably imagine beautiful cherry blossom tree with impressive interior details? That was not the case with our visit. We were sat at the worst table in the whole restaurant behind the service station, where table cloths (the same ones that were used to clean dirty tables) were sprayed and hanged on the banister that our table was against. The staff member was spraying the cloths 30cm from our faces and food with chemicals, then returning with a dirty cloth that he later would shake and hang back on the banister right next to our food. You will be able to see the proximity in the photo. Any other time this would be unacceptable due to H&S reasons, but during a global pandemic - this sight was appalling. We have asked to be moved to a different table but we’re advised that all the tables were taken, however at least 6 tables were free during our dinner time that we could have easily been moved to. The table we had was also beside the kitchen door, that was opening and closing every few seconds, interrupting our conversation, hearing shouting and swearing from the kitchen. We could not hear the background music as loud as the door hinges squeaking. The food was ok but we could not enjoy it as we had to experience cleaning cloths being sprayed, shaken and stored almost on our table. It’s fair to say our evening was ruined. We didn’t want to stay for desserts and coffee and left as soon after our mains. Our friends and family are shocked after seeing our table photos and hearing about the experience we had. All I can say is that this was the worst Valentine’s Day experience we had so far.

We had our Nephews 18th in Gigis, overall it was fantastic food and service, atmosphere was good and we all had a great time, there was a good selection of menus although I thought the main menu starters were a tad expensive with most of them priced between £8 - £10, Mains were reasonably priced and drink were ok, a large glass of wine was in the region of £8 though, to expensive in my opinion, overall we had a great meal and the staff were more than happy to engage with the birthday boy and even brought out his cake whilst singing, and then offered to cut up the cake and serve it out, you can't ask for more than that. Would definitely recommend and we will return soon UPDATE, Me and my partner went for lunch and it was really really good, they have refurbished the main restaurant and extended it, the atmosphere was excellent even with social distancing, staff were super friendly and the food was excellent and value for money..all Covid rules were followed to the letter and I would highly recommend a visit to Gigi's if your looking for food authentic Italian food.

Unfortunately my last night visit to Gigi's wasn't all good experience. Just after out first drink arrived, I have raised my glass only to be surprised by quite scary experience. The glass exploded in my hand! It was a terrifying moment and quite frankly I was at least glad it didn't burst closer to my face. We had to wait couple of minutes for a waiter to arrive. Once he showed up did not ask if I'm okay at all but said "don't worry this things happens", basically accusing me of braking the glass. I did not noticed at first but I have cut my finger. I mentioned this to the waiter but he didn't acknowledge it at all. Fortunately my friend had a player and helped me to stop the bleeding. To my surprise the waiter did not move us to different table but just let us stood there while he was cleaning the table and the floor. All of the broken glass wasn't even collected but just pushed aside next to our table. Wait said that this is a job for "tomorrow morning". I could not believe that we had to sit at the same table, where the floor was still wet and broken glass was left on the floor. Then we said to the waiter that I need replacement drink but he laughed and walked away. Next waiter came along and I have have explained again what has happened and that I need replacement drink. It took a third waiter to come along and he then finally brought a drink. We also asked if this was reported to the manager which they assured it was. I was expecting the manager to come over and check if I was ok and maybe offer an apology or complementary drink. Unfortunately noone came to see us. Food was ok. Starters were nice. Both of us had a steak and I have asked for medium-rare but half way through it was very rare. Almost blue so I have left it. When we were paying our bill we have mentioned what had happened and the lady said that no one has told her this. Shocking quite frankly! I cannot believe that first of all glass broked in my hands! Then I was accused of braking it. Then no one checked if I was okay!! We had to still sit at the same table next to the broken glass! That's so dangerous not only for me but for all of the rest customers. And the fact that no one offered apologies, not even manager was interested. I'm sorry but there was nothing right that night about the staff behaviour and how they made me feel. I was actually a bit distressed about the while situation and my hands were shaking from the experience. Summarising- very disappointing and not pleasure...

Booked a table for 4 adults and 2 young kids for father's day at 5.15pm as kids eat early and to be in bed for a school day. It seemed busy already. It took us a little time to decide so we ordered about 5.45, starters and mains and food for the kids asap as they were getting hungry. We had to ask what happened to the order as the kids started climbing the walls and they told us just a few minutes which was about another 15 minutes. We had asked if they could bring out the garlic bread we had ordered whilst waiting but that didn't happen. The starters finally came over an hour after arriving. We again had to ask for the mains and it came 25 mins to 30 mins after we had finished the starters. Nobody asked if we wanted some nibbles while we were waiting or topping up the drinks. Staff were friendly but in a rush. We overheard a comment from the staff that the kitchen was 'on fire', very busy indeed! When the bill came I was surprised to have no acknowledgement of our wait. I spoke to the manager and suggested that considering we came here with the intention to enjoy and relax and instead had guerney kids and grumpy grandparents that the starters could come off the bill. She said she needed to speak to her counterpart and came back with 10% off the starters which amounted to £5 which took another 5-10 minutes to sort out and is pretty meagre for £180 bill. I said I'd rather pay the full amount as this is laughable but they insisted. They apologised and stated that it was busy due to father's day which I appreciate. However, they shouldn't book so many customers in if they can't cope with the demand and provide attentive service. Conclusion - they are happy to take the business but not provide the service which is a shame as it seemed a nice place with a...
