We 3 ladies arrived at 6pm and asked if there was a table available, we were told no problem, and escorted to our table. So far so good. We opted for the buffet tea time menu which was delicious. The very young girl and boy who served our table were so lovely. This next part left a sour taste in our mouth. At 7.25pm an older waiter came over and unceremoniously thudded our bill on the table ,while saying card or cash. I actually jumped as we hadn't asked for the bill and had barely finished our last mouthful of ice cream. I said too politely we needed a couple of minutes to work out our share and a generous tip for the lovely girl and boy who served us. When he returned, I built up the courage to ask why we were being huckled out. He said he was now busy and had 3 tables waiting. I said what if we wanted a coffee, he seemed nervy and replied he could get us a coffee, which I replied but you have given us a final bill. He had no answer. It just put a sad dent on a lovely evening. As we were walking out of the restaurant he asked if he would see my friend next week as she was a regular. The sad thing in I would go back as the food and initial service good. He, the man in charge, spoiled our last drink or coffees I was back sitting in my car at 732pm. This review should be about food not his...

Untrained delivery drivers let themselves into unsuspecting homes of deliveries made by neighbours. Also unlocking locked bolted back gates and banging on back windows of properties whose neighbours ordered food. Company has a reputation of sending out untrained staff who feel that it’s acceptable to break into peoples houses, trespass onto private property and when confronted they are apologetic but don’t actually care. To make matters even worse you take it up with the owners only to be told sorry or it wasn’t our delivery guys after admitting it a few weeks previously. Absolutely terrible and completely shocking. Money is the only objective at all costs. “We don’t care or what is it you actuality want”. We want it to stop and be able to live in peace without stupid idiots walking into our private property, house, home, locked gate back garden banging windows relentlessly and live in peace. Take some of your profits and put into training delivery staff before you let them loose on the general public before you end up in court...

Food was ok. Chicken tikka darapuri was nice, but light on mince and the garlic naan bread was swimming in butter. Starters were very bare bones too with strangely small servings of pakora.

Service was quick and efficient, but awkward with awful jokes and a lot of 'yes boss' style faux-professionalism. That was a bit weird. Prices were fair I guess, especially with a complimentary round of drinks (which was unexpected, but very much appreciated.)

Further downsides were the poor décor and utterly insane nursery style atmosphere. I appreciate other customers aren't the responsibility of the staff, but they seem to encourage a McDonald's style play theme on a Sunday night.

At best this place is average and avoid booking on a Sunday night.

  • EDIT

Takeaway is surprisingly good. Chasni is very nice and delivery is quick and hot. Also very accommodating to meal preparation...

The Heera is the only Indian takeaway I use. Even though I have now moved out of thier catchment area, I now drive there from Johnstone to collect. I've never sat in before until tonight though I wasn't surprised that it was just as delicious but with the added bonus of good service! If you're like me and can't handle anything more than a korma, get the Kerla. I was skeptical when I first tried it years ago - bananas in curry!! - but it's the only thing I have now. It's immense. Tried the paneer pakora tonight as well and again, unsurprisingly they were delicious. My partner tries something new every time we go and he has yet to eat something "alright" from there - everything that comes out of the kitchen is incredible.

This food is inedible. Straight into the trash can. After good experiences at other Indian restaurants in Scotland—in Elgin and on Skye—I trusted the good reviews of this place. Of the five dishes we ordered, only the veggie pakora was edible. The aloo saag is…not describable in polite language. Think puréed spinach for babies and the face they make if you feed it to them. The chicken patia is just chicken in a vat of ketchup—slightly bbq flavored ketchup. Even the naan is trash. It is so tough you cannot bite or chew it. I called and asked for a refund for the bad food, and they offered us…more food.

I go past this a few times a week and the wonderful aroma entices me in every time. Established 1974 this family ran restaurant has stood the test of time. The young man who took the order is super friendly and I believe the chef(his father) is the original owner. The food is fabulous. The price is very reasonable. The portion size is more than generous. If you want value for money this is highly recommended. For £20 this is a bargain 👍
