Some people climb mountains for enlightenment. Others meditate by tranquil bays. Me? I pulled into a lay-by near a Scottish golf course and met Big Scotty ā and Iāve never been the same since.
Behold the Big Scotty: a gut-busting, heart-hugging, life-affirming pile of bacon, egg, black pudding, sausage, and tatty scone artistry, all for a humble Ā£7. Thatās less than a round of golf and a lot more satisfying than missing every putt.
The bacon crackles like it was fried by the gods of fire and salt. The egg? Fried sunny side up, just like the glint in Braveheartās eye. The black pudding is basically a national anthem in edible form. The sausage? Think meat torpedo. And the tatty sconesāfluffy yet firm, the carbohydrate hug you didnāt know you needed.
I ate mine sitting on a wooden chair that has seen more Scottish weather than Sean Connery, gazing out at a view so majestic it felt like the Highlands were applauding my choice.
The food truck itself? A noble chariot of cholesterol. Stainless steel, a Scottish flag waving defiantly, and a menu board with more personality than half my extended family.
Final Verdict: 5 out of 5 bagpipes. Would duel a clan chief for another one. Worth the drive, the calories, and the spiritual awakening.

Last night we had the burgers and chips, absolutely delicious! Everything was fresh, hot, and packed full of flavour, proper comfort food after a long day. They also offer other fresh dishes like seafood etc.
Then this morning, we went back for the Scotty breakfast and it was just as amazing. Proper hearty Scottish grub that set us up perfectly for the day.
A special shoutout to Jim who served us in the morning, so friendly, helpful, and just an all-round lovely guy. Itās the little touches like that which make all the difference.
Highly recommend stopping by if youāre in the area, top-notch food and even better service! The views were...

By the third meal, when heading out in the morning we'd say "I can't wait for the sea bass at 5 o'clock" - the perfect reward after a day of hiking. The food was simply excellent: fresh, tasty, perfect sides, cooked in spotless hygiene, and fairly priced. The duo running the place was always jovial and friendly, and careful towards allergies (in this case, gluten - much of the menu is anyway safe). As a bonus, the outdoor tables had a stunning view to the lake. Overall, some of the best meals we had in Scotland (Edinburgh...
