I can't really give 0 stars so...let's begin my longest review. I had the burger so I thought everything was fine until...I recieved my food (after an hour). To start off, the burger meat was overcooked and it tasted like it sat on a charcoal grill for a decade. It's extremely dry and unseasoned so it had no taste at all. Moving on, the price was overpriced. Seriously. You had to pay 1.50 for a piece of cheese you can't even see which is probably from a shop which closed down centuries ago. And even worse yet, 3.50 for garlic sauce! The bun slapped on the burger was entirely unacceptable Gordon Ramsay would shut down the place immediately. Next off, the chips were merely fried like school food though cooked on the inside, it was clear that it was microwaved since it came out steaming like Yellowstone National Park. ”Ok, I thought”. But that wasn't the end of it. I also had the meat platter which was most unfortunate. The bread was some cheap soft tasteless bread from Ancient Egypt 4000 years ago and even then, the bread would've tasted better than what I had. There was surprisingly also some pickles and pickled onions and some cheap salad drowed in dressing on the 'meat' platter. Thirdly, the carbonara. It looked fairly normal at first but when I tasted it once. I stopped, physically and mentally. The cheese was watery. The pasta was soft. So seemingly, I left the place at once. In conclusion, don't go to this restaurant because it is a scam especially...
Read moreIf you've ever seen the Gordon Ramsay episode of Kitchen Nightmares, where he blows the amount of herbs off the top of the meal - you'd swear it was this place! EVERYTHING was covered in dried herbs, but very old dried Italian herb mix like you can buy in Tesco or Sainsburys, but dont usually pour over meals in tablespoon quantities. I ordered pumpkin ravioli which was still cold in the middle & was covered in a balsamic type sauce, rather than the supposed pesto sauce it was meant to come with, and I had to scrape the dried herbs off that caked it which were not "roasted sage" as advertised, but the generic dried mixed herbs. My daughter had a burger which she managed to eat half of, as it was dry & the bun was stale. The Macaroni was again covered in the same dried herbs and about the only thing that we actually enjoyed was the cheese & chips, our kids thankfully ordered on the side, as there were less of the dried herbs to pick around! The seating was dirty and needed a deep clean and the place itself was needing redecoration. We could not understand how the place was packed much of the time that we stayed in Aviemore, after our experience, as the food is overpriced, not fresh at all, and tastes bad when drowning in the herbs (I guess to cover it's blandness), and can only assume it's popularity is due to the fact there is a lack of restaurants for such a busy tourist area as several were only allowing for take-aways, rather...
Read moreReally gutted to have experienced such bad service when myself and 3 others tried to visit for a drink and a hopeful bite to eat.
We seen lots of free tables of 2 lined up outside the venue, so we pulled 2 seats from a different table over so we could sit beside each other. Really didn’t think we weren’t going to upset the member of staff so much by doing so.
We were greeted by a really rude lady who snapped ‘you can’t move these seats!!’ I apologised and said no bother we’ll put them back and sit apart. She stared at us, not saying anything else and I asked if we could have some food and drink menus to have a looks at. She barked, ‘you can’t have food outside!…. And we’re full inside!’
She then lectured us that we were blocking a walkway and it was breaking Covid social distancing rules…. Fair enough, but isn’t it your job to explain how your venue works in a kind and welcoming manner? (And I already said we would move them back where they were, 1 meter away)
She just seemed like she was looking for a fight with us, it clearly REALLY upset this woman that we moved a table and 2 chairs. There were no signs which said not to, and we weren’t invading anyone else’s space as the outdoor area was empty.
Anyway she walked away and didn’t even ask if we’d like a drink. So we went to the hotel across the road where the staff were lovely…. Looks like we...
