McDonald's — Restaurant in Scotland

Reviewed on 8/6/24. A They’re back at it. Things improved since they started sealing the delivery bags but today: Someone packed 2 and a half (broken) chicken strips in a box that should be 5 strips. They sent a brownie instead of chocolate cookie. I could not report this because the Uber website only allows one entry of complaint. The second was not a problem since my daughter did not mind the brownie. But guess what? It was her chicken pack that was incomplete. Even as an adult I will be disappointed if I open a box expecting 5 pieces of chicken only to find 2 and a half. Then imagine a child. They have promised to refund some money but really it is the heart palpitations I get when expecting the order in. I always worry something will be wrong. If not for the kids who ask for weekend treat, I will not bother with them anymore.

Previous reviews I am now upgrading my review from 3 to 4 * because they started sealing the bags and in past months we have not had missing major component of our orders 27/3/2024.

I downgraded rating today because they missed out Big Mac. I deliberately do not order 2 of any type of burger so to help them not get them mixed up as in the past. I noted it was a common error to undercount times. Today I ordered a Big Mac, Double Pounder, Deluxe Crispy and a Mayo Chicken, plus a wrap, chicken nuggets and 7 fries, total cost ~ £55 but Big Mac was not supplied. They have refunded the cost but a person’s meal was missing. It came sealed with a checklist but this has not prevented their old mistake. I still order because of the kids. It a treat for them few times/month. As for the adults in the house who will have to give up their meal, it is not fun. The burgers are also not standard either. It is as if tomatoes cost a fortune. I will not complain about missing dips for nuggets. It is now normal.

This 5 star is based on today’s service only. The only missing items today for home delivery are the 4 ketchup tabs/dips for chicken nuggets . Who will complain of this? DO NOT ORDER FROM THE MCDONALDS APP!! We made the mistake of ordering a delivery from the app, we requested from palace ground's, Hamilton but it was sent from Motherwell, not a big deal only the driver dumped the delivery on the ground outside our front door, didn't knock the door or ring the bell so not being mind readers the food was outside for an hour (i.e. freezing cold) we honestly just thought it was a busy night and didn't think our food would just be dumped on the ground.. So, we called McDonald's for a refund, told since it was from the app any issues had to be dealt with by UberEats, bit strange as we ordered form McDonald's, not UberEats, but OK, tried that.. the call-handler from Uber was totally unwilling to help, so requested to speak to a manager, who just kept repeating that he wouldn't refund anything then hung up on us, this call ended at 20.10, so unable to even go round to McDonald's as it closes at 20.00... NEVER EVER AGAIN! am now left with an unopened bag of freezing food that is totally inedible and being forced to pay for it... total scam... Now left with the prospect of finding an alternative in Motherwell on a Tuesday night, so much for hassle free...

Hopefully this place will be re-opened soon once this covid is no longer about. I like MacDonald's in Motherwell as it is Always clean and tidy. The seats and tables are always spotless, whenever I go in. Staff are really lovely and friendly, and the cleaning staff also go out there way to make sure cleaning is done. Also Depending on what time you go in, the store can get very busy, manly at dinner/lunch times. even saying that there always very fast with the Queues and your orders, so your never waiting too long. and even now to make things even quicker or easier, or to spare standing in long queues, as long as you have a bank card as these don't take cash, there is multiple order machines where you can place your order and pay direct and then just wait till your order number is called. which helps allot of people who are in a rush saves queues waiting and having around in rush hour to be served etc. Macdonalds have really thought all this through. And now on most apps now Macdonalds has now started deliverys, so once again great shop for take out or in. Great workers great...
