McGurtys Sports Venue and Diner — Restaurant in Scotland

Visited with a couple of friends around midnight on a Friday night. We were told by the lady at the bar it is shutting. We pointed out it closes at 1am & were only planning to stay for a few minutes when waiting for a lift. She reluctantly looked around at the other customers (probably around 12 people) stated as he had got a full pint ok will serve us.

My friends ordered a pint each, I ordered a Fanta. The barmaid stated she was not staying open so I could have a Fanta. I told her I was appalled by this attitude. It is not cool for someone that you have just met to try to peer pressure a person into drinking alcohol. It didn't seem like it was well intended banter either. I suspect she has significant training needs.

Going back to the venue it seemingly gets busy & can be good for pool.

Beer lines could do with a clean as I bought two different draughts Lagers they were both tested disgusting! Shame really because it's a good place, maybe the lines in the cellar needing cleaned with lack of use can have stale beer left...

Went here on our Christmas night on , the staff were so polite and efficient considering it was really busy, tthe bar staff kept their cool and plodded on regardless well done to them all, a very enjoyable night was...
