Absolutely fantastic brunch spot in East Glasgow!

Dog friendly, which is a big plus these days.

The space isn't massive but they also haven't crammed everything in, so you don't feel claustrophobic. Lovely high ceilings, big windows, and they've kept some original decor from the tenement days.

The service was fantastic and the staff was absolutely lovely. Attentive but not invasive in any way!

The food itself was nothing short of phenomenal. My husband had a sweet potato and harissa soup to start with fresh sourdough - expertly done!

He then had the pastrami sandwich and myself the Turkish shakshuka with gluten free bread. (I opted for the fried potatoes too because I'm only lightly intolerant). The shakshuka was super tasty and a great portion. Personally I prefer my shakshuka a bit more saucy/pureed and less whole roasted veg but that's just a personal preference. I also asked for some garlic yogurt which just topped the lot off perfectly.

The coffee was also really nice, I had an iced double espresso with oat milk and caramel. It shouldn't be difficult to get a nice iced coffee but I often find myself lacking. Not here though, perfectly balanced and you could tell the espresso was perfect as well.

Overall we had a lovely little brunch, a good chat with our server, and some leftovers we're eating as we speak! Can't recommend enough and can't wait to go back and try more of...

Mesa has been my local haunt for some time now, and I really should have thought to leave a review sooner. If you’re considering going for breakfast or lunch in Glasgow, this is the place to go- especially if you’re looking for somewhere with atmosphere. Not only are the coffees amazing, but the food is fresh, next-level, and the daily specials are always actually special.

Everything is locally sourced- the bread comes from a nearby bakery, the sausage and meat come from the local butcher, and the cakes are not only local but absolutely beautiful as well.

That being said, what truly makes Mesa stand out are the staff and owners; they’re the nicest, most accommodating, and friendliest people you’ll ever meet. Calling ahead is the best way to secure a table, but if you just drop by and there’s a wait, it usually doesn’t take long before you’re seated.

I definitely give Mesa a full 5/5 - if I could give it a...

My sister & brother always go,they took me last week, they have a roll in bacon & soft egg....the roll is perfect & the egg is lovely & clean & white. The perfect way to have it,the waitress was a blonde girl so nice & helpful, she said hello to my sister and you could tell she knew her right away as a regular, the pot of tea is so right too,it's lovely & strong ...a great cup of tea,I asked the nice guy in the beard who the picture on the wall was as we were all debating about it,we where all wrong as he told me it was tom waits... anyway I would strongly recommend this beautiful wee place,it's always busy and sometimes it's hard to get a table on certain days...the bathroom is spotless too which is a bonus. Loved it,top marks for everything, food, staff and decor...cleanliness is max.. hurry up and go,you don't know what you missing, atmosphere brilliant and music is spot on....1 million...

💫 6/5 stars, this place deserves all the praise it gets and more! 💫 When we entered, we were a bit sceptical how such a small and weirdly looking place has one of the best food rating in the area. How wrong we were. For breakfast we decided on shakshuka and that day's special pancakes. How good they were it blew our minds! 🤯 Yes, it was the first shakshuka in my life. Yes, it was the most delicious shakshuka in my life. Yes, this taste will stay with me for months to come and will be difficult to beat! 😇 Both our meals were angelic in taste, we couldn't get enough! Every single ingredient had a purpose. I'd see that in a Michelin star restaurant, but did not expect it in such a small and local place. Yes, the place itself might remind you of your time in elementary school, but it's sooo worth it. Breakfast at its finest! 👌

We sat in for a couple of coffees, pancakes, and a veggie breakfast bowl (falafel, greens, hummus, pickle, and sourdough toast). Good food with generous portions, and the coffee is good quality. There's a takeaway window as well, and they do breakfast buns with a variety of fillings that we're planning to try next time-- good for a quick breakfast before setting out for a hike. Staff were very friendly and managed both tables and takeaway window without being too rushed to check in, which was very impressive. I also appreciated that despite the relatively small size, the tables are not too crowded in, so we didn't feel like we had to wolf down our food to make way for someone else. Good atmosphere, good food, great service-- will definitely be back!
