Cosy dessert place offering fast and super friendly service. The place was busy when we arrived on a Friday night and we waited a few minutes for a table. I appreciated that we were still never made to feel like we were a bother. There were 5 tables for sit-in at the time, hopefully they’ll be able to expand further and accommodate more sit-in customers in the future :)
We were spoiled for choice with the range of desserts, from the more standard items like crepes and waffles with ice cream, to milk cakes, cookie dough, and chocolate-dipped cheesecakes. We had the dipped pistachio cheesecake. It came drizzled in pistachio sauce, paired with vanilla ice cream.
The female staff was such a superstar the way she zoomed from the counter to the kitchen whilst bringing out the desserts and getting tables freshly cleaned to prepare for a constant flow of customers. She seemed on top of everything and still spoke with us in such a warm and chirpy way.
It seemed apparent that a lot of thought has gone into the creation of these desserts and conceptualisation of the menu, could see that the team really strives to satisfy every possible dessert craving and provide a pleasant experience to all customers. I had hopes of the pistachio cheesecake being firmer and having the texture of a baked cheesecake, and what we had seemed to be creamier and fluffier on the inside. This might be what you prefer though! I’d still be keen to return and try other menu...
Read moreGoogle has the closing time listed as 12am. We called around 10.50pm (an hour and ten minutes) before closing to place an order for collection. We were very confused as the guy on the phone couldn’t seem to make his mind up about wether we could place an order or not. After a very confusing encounter where he also confirmed the closing time was 12am we were told we could not order on the phone but could order in person at the store or on Uber Eats or Just Eat. Now this alone is a strange and shocking encounter why can’t they simply take an order on the phone we thought?
So we pull up to the store which was clearly still open. Lights on, a customer in the building. Multiple staff who are actively cooking orders. I walk in and ask to place an order for takeaway. The woman simply looks at her watch and says “nope, closed” and rushes me out the shop. The second I leave they close the shutters down behind me.
Absolutely no need. I can only assume there was a lack of communication and the guy on the phone was meaning to say only Just Eat and Uber Eats orders could be placed. But even then that still makes no sense. We are not coming to sit in, we are ordering for takeout. What difference does it make if I make the order in person or online? Your equipment is still active and you are still making orders for another hour...
Read moreI had an incredibly disappointing experience with Little Dessert Shop through Deliveroo. I placed an order, waited over 30 minutes past the scheduled delivery time, but received no delivery. I attempted to contact the restaurant directly, but they were closed and unreachable. To make matters worse, the status of my order was later updated to "delivered," even though I hadn't received anything.
When I reached out to Deliveroo's live chat for assistance, they claimed the restaurant had attempted delivery but received no response from me. However, I didn't receive any notification of this supposed attempt, either through my house buzzer or via a phone call. My contact information is accurate, so there should have been no issue.
Despite the fact that the delivery was not completed and there was no effective communication from the restaurant, they are refusing to refund my order. My previous experiences with Little Dessert Shop had been positive, but this incident left a bad taste in my mouth. I hope this issue can be resolved quickly, but as of now, I'm incredibly...
